The smallest book in the world I'm told - that's the Maltese highway code.

Huge thanks for pointing this out, the more I hear about the hotel and the timeshare presence I changing my mind. The Victoria Hotel has now entered my shortlist :)

The Victoria does look very nice. I have found that free internet does not seem to be commonplace in Malta, so not sure whether to leave the laptop at home (four days offline? ) or find a bar with wifi.

Malta, we love Malta, there's nothing that we'd alter.

We have the exact same problem, especially as it's easier to speak to the kids at home via MSN or Skype if you have wi-fi in your room.

Just got this back from the Victoria.

Ouch, those rates are high! It might mean that a more expensive hotel works out cheaper if they have free wifi. Off to check The Palace!

Edit: Nope, but Le Meridien does in public areas. This list may help. ;)

Had an e-mail reply from the Palace saying "However WIFI in rooms is at a supplement, Should you wish to have free wifi, we can make a special exception for you when booking a deluxe room or upwards."

Let me know how you get on
• Other offers I can see is Juliani Hotel for 4 nights with Wireless and Breakfast for £240 and Radisson Blu is also £240 with Wireless and American Buffet Breakfast.

Have a look at prices for The Palace through www.TravelSupermarket.com, I am seeing cheaper prices for your dates through a few agents.

I think it will be The Palace, ten days before you so I can report back! Although Le Meridien is still a contender, simply because I have status with their frequent guest scheme so am likely to get an upgrade. Going to give it a few more days and decide ... Will let you know! ;)
