Am glad you had a good nights rest TPA... Dont worry about the tears though I know exactly how you feel.. I do it in front of customers when I get like that!!

    How are the Puddies?

Thank you! I felt like such a prat though!:o

The puddy cats are gorgeous! Both black, one long hair one short, they are bonkers, running up and down the stairs like a hurd of elephants!

Am going to enjoy my time with them, although when I came home last night my puddy cat could 'smell' them and was NOT happy!:rotfl:

It been a horrible few days, Mum has been in hopsital having a routine operation but the medication they have given her seems to have reacted with her normal medication and she has become very confused, today amongst other things she was inconsolable as she thought my Dad had been arrested and that she had alo been charged with something. Bless her, its awful, she is lucid one minute and a bit barking the next. I had to promise on the dogs life that no one was/has/is being arrested.

My Dad is not coping very well with her as when she says something daft he argues the toss with her, I've told him to explain that it must have been a bad dream and its not true but hes not one to be told:mad:

She told her friend that my brother had turned up late to see her and was drunk! He hasn't been anywhere near the hospital so i'm not sure where she got that from.

Tomorrow is going to be hard as its my very long day in work and I will not be able to visit her:(

Oh bum, I only seem to come on the moan lately!

    Moan away TPA.

So sorry to hear about your Mum, hopefully its not to long before she can stop taking the medication

And bless your dad, for arguing when she is muddle (I have to write that as I know I would be the same), he probably thinks he helping her by trying to correct her

Hopefully the long day will pass quick for you :)

I hope your mum gets better soon and the confusion goes. When my mum had pneumonia she went loopy with the drugs & it was hilarious - all the nurses had their meal breaks in her room as she was so entertaining. Best 2 comments were:

'I can't move to the other ward till the man with the donkey can come and get me. I don't know how it will get on in the lift' and

'Did you see that man just walk past? He had a tea tray on his head with cups & saucers & a teapot & everything on it'.

Only time the kids ever willingly went to visit :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your mum however I had to laugh at your post GG. My Gran was the same she would go on about how she would be thrown out of her retirement flat for not paying the bills and how she had children come to her room to sing as well as black poodles in her bed.
Hope she gets better soon and that its not the slippery slope towards dementia which is sadly what my Gran got (she was well over 85 before she got that).

Hope your mum is doing a bit better now. It's a bit weird not having seen you post this week. Hard work when you have to do hospital visiting, so i hope you are not too worn out and managing to get done what you need to.
  • Its been a funny week one way and another, not had time to write in diary - thats shocking:eek:

Sadly we are still looking for Mums marbles (sorry but a bit of sick humour is what is keeping the rest of us almost sane:o)

She hasn't seemed as upset for the past couple of days but is still seeing and hearing things and believing them to be real. :(

I had a long chat with her Parkinsons specialist nurse on Thursday, she assured me that she has seen this type of thing happen many, many times before and thinks that once she is home for 48 hours or so she should become more her normal self. This has put us all at ease. She could have been out of hopsital days ago but keeps knocking her leg/knee so it will not stop weeping, the nurses now think she may have an infection in it also:mad:

I have been to work today, could have done without it to be honest but once I was there the time went quickly and in a way it was nce to have some 'normality' for a few hours.

Also did a mystery shop in a betting shop on my way home:eek: Was entertaining in a weird sort of way.

Tomorrow I have 7 mystery shops booked:eek: They were all booked before everything happened with Mum so I will just get my ar*e in gear and get them done.

Hope you are all enjoying the sun shine.

Sorry your mum is still marbleless - but at least she's happier so that is good :T. Here's hoping she gets out soon and finds her marbles down the side of the sofa ;). Or you could donate some of yours if you have any to spare (which I doubt tbh :rotfl:).

Don't mean to make fun of it, it must be very upsetting for you all - probably more so than for your mum who probably won't remember any of it later on.

Well done on the MS - hope your bet wins :)
