  • Hi there, I am a delivery man for Home delivery network and reading some of the posts made me chuckle. I apologise to the people with itmes broken or lost when we leave a card to let you know where it is. The thing is the company is so strict now that if we take more then 5% parcels back in a day our managers go on and on about it and if the parcel doesn't require a sig like most studio parcels don't then we told to leave it either with a neighbour or somewhere safe. Now as this isn't always possible we sometimes drop things over gate with the hope we don't hear a smash :rotfl: or leave it behind a property of flats/maisonettes hoping it wont be nicked. We don't do these things to P you guys off but we have very strict guidelines to follow. I do between 160-180 parcels at this time of year and it seems easy to just "throw it over the gate" rather then try a neighbour as we are out for 11 hours a day as it is.
Anyway sorry for the rant just thought I would point out a few things that may help you understand how and why we do our job sometimes.
Hope you all have a merry christmas
And don't forget to tip your ever so reliable Home delivery man :p

    Hiya :)

Does anyone know if they deliver on Saturdays? I can't see why they wouldn't, but I'm just making sure :)

Update: They have come today :D With the first of 2 half orders, I've paid the first half total of the bill up in full with a little over to cover a bit of the final half and the only problem was that they had 'Mrs' instead of 'Ms' or 'Miss'.

Fingers crossed it's the same when the second bit [that was sent out on Thursday] arrives with all the personalised items :)
  • My mum always used the studio catalogue when I was a kid and she had various problems with orders e.g. orders not arriving, not getting refunds for returned items, poor quality items, mistakes on personalised items.

    :rolleyes2
Currently unemployed (redundancy) but in control of my finances and hoping to get a new job, start a Masters course and save up for a house. A tough challenge but MSE will get me through it. :)

Aye, I was thinking that too. Surely it creates more work when the things have to be returned/reordered. And to think of what the companies say to/make the people do who's things are missing.... it's not really on :(

I got 2 catalogues with my order in the same bag  They've both been binned as I can't afford to be tempted by anything else.

I'm certainley not going to bother with Studio again after so many horror stories!

OMG!!!! I can't believe it, I forgot to settle my account with Studio last month and my wonderful 'bargain' Christmas cards have just turned into the most expensive cards EVER

£20 late payment charge, the cheek of it, can certainly see how they make their money.

Anyhow, I've learned my lesson, just off to stick the Studio catalogue in the recycling bin.......

    £20? :O Blimey!

Definatley not ordering from them again!
  • This thread has been an education. I'm going to stick with card warehouse now! I got the Studio book recently and was umming and arhing.

And the only tip I'd give a delivery driver who knackered my parcel or left it out in the rain (happened loads of times to me even when the neighbours are in and it says on the parcel to deliver it to them!) is don't knock on my door asking for a tip

I get companies to put on my parcels *If out deliver to ***** DO NOT LEAVE OUTSIDE* and the drivers still do  My neighbour works from home - he is always in during the day. He lives nextdoor. His front door is 2ft from mine. Why is leaving my parcel on the footpath outside my house on top of a drain cover in the rain safer than knocking on his door?

Sorry - turned into a rant there :rotfl:

I've had past issues with Studio too - when you pay them dont send off cheques, I did and they cashed it really late and charged me for the privilige! Like others it turned very expensive - pay over the phone on a debit card.
