Isnt the news really depressing at the minute? - what with job losses, prices going up and potential interest rate hike:eek: Reckon we are lucky to have this site and especially this thread:heartsmil for support and advice or I think I would go mad:D

Baysma, I quite agree. Isn't it lovely on here? Just coming on and reading for 10 minutes about what everyones been up to is the highlight of my day... Far more interesting than the doom and gloom the tv news tells us about :D

We are off to see 9 or 10 homes today so fingers crossed one of them is perfect for us and has everything we want!!

Good luck with househunting psycho, hope you find the perfect pad (excuse the pun!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

PAD of £2.50 for me today please f_f.

Found out yesterday that I am (still with fingers crossed until I see it in my bank) getting my bonus next week so should be able to do a mega-pad, clearing CC1 and say goodbye to Capital Uno. It's on 0% until later this year but I just want it to be gone, done, and finished forever.

Hope everyones keeping warm, it's a chilly one here.
I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...

Sorry to hear that Green. My sister also miscarried on Thursday last week. :( Poor love, she only found out she was pregnant 5 days before that!

I hope it was just bad luck and that they don't have any more problems.

    xx

Sorry to hear about your sister euro :( DIL only found out on Saturday and only told me on Sunday :(:( She seems to be ok about it tho' or she's good at hiding her feelings.

Thanks everyone else as well for your best wishes.

Thrifty, Euro - it was only my first week *cries* I'll probably end up putting on in the second if thats the case! :rotfl::( I usually do underestimate the calorie intake and thats where I've fell down in the past so I have been keeping a food diary this time round - trust me I'm being really ruthless! (I had half a biscuit today, a broken one from the bottom of the tin, and on monday I had a knob of butter on my potatoes, and I even wrote those down - thats how good I'm being! sad....)

Food diaries are where it's at! Those calories do tend to *ahem* breed when you're not looking otherwise :A;) I don't know if it's any help but using my food diary and my weightloss spreadsheet i have worked out that on four particular days when i either hadn't lost much or had GAINED a fair bit, i had eaten either roast potatoes or mash the evening before. I love my spuds, but I'm having to see them as a treat now and not a necessity :(

And to those of you with friends and family suffering miscarriages lately, my heart goes out to you. My best friend suffered four in the space of two years and was a mental wreck, but I'm glad to say that she has just given birth to her second bouncing boy....just so you know that happy endings do happen :)

Thanks Thrifty. Seems to run in the family, as my Grandma suffered one, my Mum 2, both sis's have suffered 1 now and so have I (a long time ago now).

I know that my Mum and I share the same blood type, Rhesus D negative, and that can be a cause. I wonder now if my sister does too. I'm sure they'll check it out due to the family history.

Oh, must talk about something more positive. Oh, I bought a slow cooker on Sat, arrived on Tues night! :D Now have to find some recipes and order the groceries to make some tasty meals.

This may seem like a dumb question but if inflation is higher than the government want because of the higher cost of living , how does putting interest rates up help,?

No it's not dumb and I don't quite understand all this inflation/deflation stuff myself!! :o I assumed that putting interest rates up stops inflation going up! I'm sure theres some experts out there who know better than me!
