If anyone here nows about savings accounts, could a get a bit of advice please? I need to get saving for this wedding and want to put it in a separate account so it's out of sight, out of mind. BUT I will still need to be able to draw it out as and when for deposits etc. I know ISA's are the best type overall, but can you usually put money in and out freely? Or would I be better off just setting up another current account but specifically for the wedding? I guess that way I can use it to pay for things too without having to move money about? Any thoughts please. I know that was a bit of a ramble haha!

Hope you are all ok xx

I'm only catching up on the thread now and haven't read past your post, so ignore if someone else has given better advice :D

What we've done is got a regular savings account into which we pay a certain amount per month. I also have a current account that is the 'wedding' current account which always carries a balance of around £200 so if we need to pay something out, the money's there. The rest of the savings are out of sight, out of mind.

We are using an ISA to save the balance of the honeymoon, as that doesn't need to be touched until the end of the tax year.

    Hi all,

    52p for me today please

Thanks for the advice on savings - gives me some possibilities.

Just chilling for a bit at the mo - I really should do some exercise tonight but really not feeling it - should I do Davina, Shred or go to the gym? Shred is quick I suppose - and I don't have to go anywhere :rotfl:

Have a good eve everyone xx

A mini pad of £1.72 to round down my account.

Totally gutted, i've just checked our car ins (confused.com) as renewal is due soon and cheapest quote it £655!!! Nearly £200 more than last yrs. Why is it so damn expensive? I know i've still got a few more comparison sites to compare but its not looking good, we've only saved £320 so far :(
