Morning flying_fresian
i hope you dont mind me picking your brains but i know you will prob be able to answer it.
If someone sent a bacs payment on saturday, roughly how long does it take to get to the recipient.
thanks:)
I could pretty much answer that for her because there's no way of knowing unless you know the identities of the sending and receiving banks. I send quite a few BACS payments and it can be anything from almost instantly to 3 or 4 clear working days (occasionally meaning that it can be as late as on the fifth working day if you send it after the bank has started updating on that day). I have even been sent a BACS payment on a Saturday morning and received it within a few minutes - though I think the sending and receiving banks were the same.0 -

What he said
If the bank participates in the Faster Payments system it can be received pretty much instantly but otherwise it's 3-5 working days.
If you've not received the funds yet, I'd guess it would be tomorrow/Thursday based on normal processing times...0 -

OH's wages safely in the bank this morning so I am starting with £250 to the Savings a/c - he has been paid overtime for the first time in years so I have squirreled it away (except for the chunk I need him to spend in costco later this week:D)
More to come tomorrow, but I am taking it carefully so I don't mess up.0 -
Thankyou flying_fresian and Paulgonnabedebtfree
your so much faster than me attempting to phone my bank
lol, fingers crossed for tomorrow ( was hoping that it would be quicker than a cheque clearing)

Morning all,
OH got paid today, but before I go mad PAD-ing it all I need to sort out budgets (which I wont get chance to do before tonight) so just for now PAD is £20.00 to Barclaycard.
Feeling really horrid today coming down with a cold and have a really sore throat, the only thing I can take for it is paracetamol which is doing nothing!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

(also need to start building up a bit of a buffer as it looks like I will have to move again in a month or so and its the dreaded needing to pay out rental deposite while not having had the last one back!)New surname New start!
