Hard going today as I had the displeasure of an upper endoscopy. :( Nothing too serious going on though, thankfully.

Have just found this thread and it really made me want to say well done and keep trying, even if it is 2 steps forward and one back. I have been there. After over 40 yrs wed I am lucky enough to not have any more financial probs I just want to really encourage you all because that wasn't always the case, in fact I have had some horrible times.

In 1970 I found my husband had £500+ debt when you could buy a house for about £2000 and he earned £18 a week. We hadnt long wed and at 20 I was pregnant. Until then I had never borrowed a penny even though I didnt have much and at that time I even sold a present from my mum and dad to buy food. His philosophy was you cant get blood out of a stone and he ran away from it. If he couldnt pay the bill he didnt pay anything, because he didnt see things like I did & you are doing now. I paid 10s a month (50p) here £1 there and after 5 years we were debt free. I carried on with the same idea but saving the pennies and never looked back. Dont give up. I dont admire wealthy people when it has come easy, I admire people who have tried & maybe dont have much but can look at their home and one day say thats mine and its paid for.

    Well done to you all
  • £2 for me please, xx
  • Hi all,

Been absent for a bit because of a lack of funds and padding IOU's would seem to be against the spirit of things.

I'll squeeze a £1-00 for a future bill that's giving me the creeps.

Things have gone a bit out of kilter here in non-financial way unfortunatly. So emotionally up and down at the moment and trying to face things without distractions.

Hope everyone is doing well - I've not read through the posts for a few days so good will and strength to face lifes challenges for those who need it.

Thank you that was a lovely post:A. I think everyone is finding it really tough at the moment with food and fuel prices going through the roof and it is difficult to focus on the fact that we will be debt free one day:j
