I'm afraid much of my intended PAD money went due to a football match. To ensure I got a ticket to watch Crawley play at Manchester United, I bought a half season ticket (£127). The match ticket was £41 and the coach £30) Nearly £200 for a football match. However, I would have been going to watch a number of the games anyway that are covered by the half season ticket so it's nowhere near as bad as it sounds.I suppose that sometimes you have to step back and acknowledge that a particular event is very unlikely to ever happen again. Yes, it's on live TV but being there, that really is something else.
It's a very long day so, in true PAD style, I will be taking packed food for a couple of big snacks and a flask of coffee.
I know Crawley will be stuffed but I just want to be there.
If you hate football or are indifferent, you may not get it.
If you do have some sort of liking for, or empathy with, the game and its neanderthal tribalism, then you will get it totally.
Yesterday, I made sure that I started getting my money's worth and used the first part of the half season ticket. It was worth going to eventually too. It looks like Crawley only play for 15 minutes in a 90 minute match and still seem to do enough to get a result.

Hi everyone.... hope you're all having a lovely weekend.
There's strange things happening in the Sassers household in the last two weeks, mainly to do with money.
Nice, but strange all the same......this sort of thing doesn't usually happen to me....
I got paid £500 from a former job that had been miscalculated in wages. Found 75p in shrapnel in the street, then got sent some fab testers to try which means free lunches at work.....
I also had £100 reversed back into my account after a mistake by Lloyds TSB and I've just found out I won £52 quid on the lottery today...!
Last week I found out my new mortgage will be going down to £236 a month and the gas debt reduced by £50 due to a mistake...
Spooky, but I wonder if it's because I've been listening to The Secret?
Anyway. Please can I make a pad of £10 today to the gas?
Thanks everyone - feeling a bit strange and spooked! I think I've obsessed so much about padding and being debt-free and struggling, tunnelled vision, when something nice happens it sort-of knocks you a bit...
