Probably import duty rather than VAT - or maybe a bit of both.

It was definitely VAT plus another £8 for the postage in the UK
I think they must rely on people not bothering to appeal.

Juliejim - sorry to hear about your DH's job. It is hard to be positive on the very day it happens but my fingers are crossed that this will open the door to better opportunities for him that he might not have taken otherwise.

£1.40 for me please F F. Pay day on Monday - phew!

    Hi all

Well done LM on paying a cc off :T:T
Does anyone else bank with Natwest?? Last month they charged me £20 for my OD and £21 interest and again now this month they've charged me £20 for account charges?!!?!? I thought it was a year end sort of thing but it now looks like a monthly thing  so that's £41 a month  need to get rid of my OD fast!!!!!

    Pad £5 cap1 and 25p jar pls

    £5.25

Hi green i bank with Natwest and havn't noticed anything like this yet is it an agreed o/d or could they have reviewed your account and removed it and that could be why they are charging. I had this six months ago and never got the letter saying change in o/d and got charged for a couple of months for unarranged o/d until i realised and spoke to them and managed to arrange a reducing o/d until it was reduced to what they wanted although the stupid thing is they have now increased it back to what it was.

PAD of €31 to the sealed pot. Realised this only needed to be €28 (for Feb), but hey, I'll cope without the other 3!

Anyway, in GBP, that is a PAD of 26.70 GBP. :)

I'm exhausted (for a number of reasons) and started to bruise very easily lately and quite badly in some cases. So saw docs this morning and he sent me for a blood test. Now I have a nasty bruise either side of my elbow (I already had one on the outside of my elbow). Bah humbug! At least results will be in on Monday, which is very speedy! I had to refrain from saying 'Really? It won't take 2 weeks and involve me chasing for a further week?' as that is the process I am used to from the UK.

Having a down day in general. I need a break from all the emotional stuff, but not much I can do about that at the moment, and being tired exaggerates those feelings. Sooooooooo looking forward to a monster lie in tomorrow! Plus side - there is a new English shop in my town and I stocked up earlier this week. I might head back tomorrow and get more! :D

Hope all results come back okay and you are feeling better enjoy your lay-in.

Re the scorch mark... it's not looking good then?! She has been sooo paranoid about me breaking something or something going wrong while she is away. Stupid straighteners... it's because one of the plates keeps falling out. And I've cracked a dinner plate, but all I was doing was eating off it so that defnitely isn't my fault!
