Palema’s quest for a place to call home

Hi everyone
There is a thread over on the MFW board 12 Goals for 2012
I have been reading the MFW board to get some ideas for when I get my own place and I posted on the thread. I have copied it over to my diary to keep me on track before I start a diary over there too!
My goals for 2012
1. Make it to a 5 figure sum before I buy a place of my own.
2. Buy a place of my own.
3 Over pay the mortgage from the start!
4. Start a MFW diary to track my progress.
5. Stop wasting money on snacks and unnecessary "stuff"
6. Make a budget when I move and stick to it each month.
7. Make time for me at least 1 day a week.
8. Once I move do a weekly meal plan and stick to it.
9. Bulk cook once a week.
10. Save money in my sealed pot and £2 piggy and not touch any of it until at least 2013.
11. Learn to sometimes say NO
12. Keep my house tidy (When I get it) and not a tip like my bedroom at the minute!
There we go - all the things I want in 2012 I am going to post this in my MFW diary when I finally buy a place of my own and score them off when I achieve them!
I will start scoring them off in this diary as well

Hi everyone
What a week - I'm off work after being sent home on Tuesday. I have a viral infection, a cough that is depriving me of sleep and I have literally no energy to do anything
I tried on Tuesday to get cover for my WW meeting last night but no one came forward so ended up going and doing a weight and go as there was no way I could have talked for half an hour with out coughing every 2 seconds
I really want to be feeling better for Saturday as it is my Works Christmas night out.
On the plus side - at least I am inside and have not been over the door to suffer THIS:eek::D
I have still managed to spend pennies though! Including Presale tickets for Jeff Dunham Clip 1 or Clip 2 in April next year! My 2 favourite Character sketches

Hi Everyone
A busy few days - I have still not been feeling all that great, been getting really tired so quickly.
Today is the 1st day that I have not been feeling tired in the afternoon.
Friday I went out and got my waxing done for my Christmas night out last night and did my Grannie's shopping with my mum. Also went to the biscuit factory to get a few bit for pressies for Christmas.
Yesterday I went to fat club then went to get my hair done for my night out. I was so trired yesterday afternoon. Went to my night out last night, ate very little soup, 1.5 potatoes, all my veg and about a quarter of the turkey and none of the pudding. I just wasn't feeling like eating it at all. I was home by 11pm and in the shower at 11.15 (It was the only way to get all the hairspray and back combing out my hair and still feels carp today)

Hi everyone
What a busy week it has been! And thankfully feeling so much better.
Lots going on at work with Christmas party and Winter Concert, all good fun but very tiring.
Had a lovely Christmas present from a parent at work on Wednesday - she came in to say she had hit my car with the tow bar of her car on Tuesday evening  as it was dark couldn't see any damage until Wednesday morning when it was light. There is a dent on the driver side front wheel arch. My thinking is at least she owned up to it.
Took my car to the garage to see what the damage was and how much it might cost to fix and it is going to be an insurance job as it will be nearly £600 as the whole wing needs replacing
In other news I am doing my final Monday WW meeting tomorrow
I received 16 boxes of plan material on Friday for the January launch with more to come this Friday
I went on the annual trip to the German market in town with my Dad yesterday was nice but so so busy. Managed to get my Pretzel which is a tradition each year.:D
Went out to lunch with a group of my WW members today to Frankie and Benny's had a great time and food was very delicious!
Get Paid tomorrow a whole 9 days early :eek: I am hoping I can refrain from touching it for as long as I can.

No soap and glory goodies this year?
 to car.
Hey Beanie
No soap and glory this year! I have pretty much all my presents and decided to give it a miss this year.
The car, I will call my insurance company again tomorrow - asked me to call back Monday as they were only dealing with emergencies Friday night when I called, due to the bad weather.

Hi everyone
A belated Merry Chirstmas
I ran my final Monday meeting last Monday and it was sad as over the past few weeks, even although its been quiet its been a lovely group to be part of.
I made homemade WW ferrero rocher and took it to each of my meetings this week as a Christmas treat and they went down very well indeed!
My cousin arrvied on Tuesday last week and goes home to London this Wednesday. We went to see Puss in Boots at the cinema on friday night, it was brilliant and well worth seeing.
I finally got through to my insuarace company about my car on Wednesday 21st December after trying since Friday 16th December to get through. It was busy on the Friday due to adverse weather conditions and was emergencies only (mine was not classed as this as it is driveable and in the drive way at home)
I tried again on Monday evening once I got home from my WW meeting - the automated service took me all the way to putting me through to a representitive then said the number was not recognised and hung up on me - not once but 3 times:eek: When I did finally get through I was told the claim form takes at least half an hour to fill in and the phone lines close at 9pm (the time was 8.47pm) SO the girl put me into the system for a call back between 2.30pm and 4pm on Wednesday.
Fast forward to Wednesday I got home and waited and waited 4.20pm came and I decided I had had enough so I called them back - lots of apologies and a registered complaint, there seeems to have been a few incidents similar to my calls fiasco and it is being investigated seemingly!
Anyway 25 mins later I had a reference number for my car and within 2 minutes of hanging up the courtesy car company called to arrange a car for me when mine goes in for repair! On Thursday before 10am the company who are repairing my car called to arrange for it to be fixed. I will be wothout my car from 11th January I don't know how long for but I get my courtesy car on the 10th January so all sorted and done quickly once I got through to them:eek::D
On Thursday I bought a groupon deal for THIS I have bought the 2 necklaces as it is my SIL's 30th at the start of January and my cousin's 40th at the end of January.
Christmas day was brilliant - I got my Kindle and an amazon gift voucher (this was spent on ebooks in less than 10 minutes!!) I am reading The Girl with the Dragon tattoo before I go see the movie!
I also got loads of other bits and pieces - the usual, PJ's, smellies, wine, sweets (although not too many) a sealed money pot.
Today - I spent some money in the sales for Christmas 2012:eek::D
Including pressies for the girls at work, my best friend and a few others.
10 rolls of wrapping paper and 2 X 50 pack and 4 X40 pack xmas cards (£7.59 in total)
Yesterday was also the 20th Anniversary of 1 of my grandad's death. Today is the 5th anniversary of my other grandad's death. can't help but think about them both at this time of year.
For the first time in years I am going out for Hogmanay! :j Going to a social club with a group of friends from work. mreally looking forward to it too!
