First day back after my one and a half weeks off. :D It was an accidental extra half week after school gassed me and tried to kill me. Oddly nobody (outside my dept) asked how I was. :rotfl: Pah, it was like my stay in hospital never happened.

Anyway, my good news for the day is that I've FINALLY sorted out what I'm doing for my dissertation, just need to do it - I've also made all the resources for it (I'm so amazing!!!). Feel like a big weight has been lifted now I know what I'm doing! :D

Oh there was an accidental build up of chlorine gas in the prep room (the ventilation system stopped working). We notified people and the solution was to open all the windows and door on the corridor (the prep room is windowless) and vent it on the corridor. Although they decided to do this before we left and I was the unfortunate one that walked through it. I was alright for 30 minutes and then found it really difficult to breath! Which then resulted in a trip to hospital...woo, so exciting!

Took me 3 hours to get home from work today! :( They closed all the bloomin' motorways between work and home...bad times! :(

are you going to develop a superpower now?

This is 29 Acacia Road. And this is twinklie, the schoolteacher who leads an exciting double life. For when twinklie walks thorugh chlorine gas, an amazing transformation occurs. twinklie is (enter superhero name here). Ever alert for the call to action!

    :rotfl:

on a serious note, hope you're feeling ok :grouphug:. probably the last thing you need after all your bouts of being poorlysick this year xx

Cha, yeah I'm ok now thanks. Fortunately I realised what they'd done and I didn't breathe in too much. Fingers crossed anyway. x

If they vented into the corridor, how did they ventilate the corridor? Apart from into your poor lungs?

    Silly twits.

BTW remember the DW scarecrows that came alive? They were inspired by the first ever gas masks in the trenches - soldiers had to wee on a sack and put it over their heads with eyeholes. Looked just like those scarecrows.

I've been offered another exam marking contract but with a different exam board for January. I've accepted and am just hoping that I don't get my contract terminated again. Fingers crossed. This one is better because it's for the actual exam board I teach.

I've had a pretty productive day today, posted my ballot paper and my exam marking contract, took Belle for a MEGA walk, found some resources etc, part planned my obs lesson, marked my year 11 coursework, went food shopping and have a chicken and bacon risotto cooking in the slow cooker. My dishes are all washed and my washing is all hung out.

Now going to spend the rest of the evening eating, drinking and chillaxing - with the tv slightly louder than normal to drown out some of the bangs for little Belle. :)
