I'm loving my kindle, and you can put it in a clear bag in the bath. ;)

I didn't touch it much for the first few months of getting it, but I have downloaded about 300 free books on mine. I still have piles of books to read everywhere, but as DH pointed out to me I keep going to the library and getting books out. :o

If you don't have internet at your DHs place in Wales, or might use it away from home a lot get a 3G one to use it online. You can log on here and other websites and while not perfect, it is good for a quick catch up.

ETA - sorry, where is my brain tonight. Happy belated 30th birthday. Hope you manage to celebrate in appropriate manner really soon.

I can't read a book in the bath as it is. I am too frightened of dropping it. I know a few people who put their kindles in air tight sandwich bags though. Also, I'm very fair and have no temperature regulation...beaches are not my friend. LOL.

Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

Oh, forgot to mention that I have been signed off from the hospital. Yey. I do need to do some breathing exercises every morning though. And I need to start doing 30 mins or so of exercise 3 to 4 times per week that gets me out of breath. I'm struggling to find something in those 3 other hours, I have my ZUMBA class for one. Can't do running, leisure centre is too expensive. Swimming pool is open at odd times.

    Any suggestions.

Belated happy birthday! Sorry I've been a bit AWOL recently... just catching up.

    Ermmmm... how about...
    • cycling,
    • fitness DVDs (shred DVD will certainly get you out of breath! Its scary but effective!),
    • Are there any sports clubs locally that you fancy trying? eg Badminton, karate, fencing. Ones held in community centres / church halls may well be cheaper than things at the leisure centre
    • If you are enjoying zumba are there any other dance classes or groups eg Salsa you could do?
    • Do you have room for an eliptical or rowing machine?
    • Make a playlist of your fave songs and dance around the house like a loony? :p
    • ... ok ... sorry... I have to say it... Ice Skating? :p :rotfl:
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

re the exercise I am also interested in cheap ways to keep fit - in fact the shred dvd has magically popped through our door this week (courtesy of mrtyo) so I shall let you know how it goes - though by all accounts it would leave me a little more than just out of breath! :rotfl:
no real opinions re: kindle- I dont know Id fancy one as I do like the feel of a book , but most friends who have got one rave about it!
gald the psychology conference was good, you must be counting down till the end of year is in sight - I know most teachers are! ;)

    • cycling, Don't have a bike, nor anywhere to store one, or the money to buy one for that matter. :rotfl:
    • fitness DVDs (shred DVD will certainly get you out of breath! Its scary but effective!), I'm looking at fitness DVD's. I don't want to lose weight though - I already only way about 3 stone wet through. I'm also rather unfit. Ha ha.
    • Are there any sports clubs locally that you fancy trying? eg Badminton, karate, fencing. Ones held in community centres / church halls may well be cheaper than things at the leisure centre We don't have many church halls near me - lots of mosques, but they don't organise stuff I can join in with. And the sports clubs are all organised through the leisure centre - v expensive. Damn the city!!
    • If you are enjoying zumba are there any other dance classes or groups eg Salsa you could do? Zumba is organised by school. A group of us pay £12 for 2 months and we have a lesson once per week. It's only because so many of us pay that we can afford to do it. Other exercise classes are again organised through the leisure centre and VERY expensive. :(
    • Do you have room for an eliptical or rowing machine? Nope...but when we move that's what I want.
    • Make a playlist of your fave songs and dance around the house like a loony? :pI do this, but whilst doing house work - can't say it gets me out of breath though.
    • ... ok ... sorry... I have to say it... Ice Skating? :p :rotfl: Oddly I'm going ice skating on Tuesday. :rotfl: That said I'm quite a good ice skater and that doesn't get me out of breath either.

The key things is I don't want to lose weight, I need to exercise my lungs though. I have no problem with toning up. :D I know it sounds like I'm making excuses but I'm so skint it's just silly. It cost £85 to fill my car up on Monday and I can't afford other stuff on top of all these increasing bills.

Right DH has found a cabinet that I can set the Wii up in down in Wales out of the way of any potential chewing disaster (although it has to be said, Belles never chewed anything other than loo rolls, tissues and paper (ironically paper that was meant for shredding - cheaper than using the electric shredder :rotfl).

And I managed to get Belle to "jog" with me yesterday in the rain! I think it only worked cos it was raining, but that's ok. Went bowling last night with some friends as well - won both games which was a bonus! But I've a few aches this morning. :)

Going to get some of these financial guesstimates up to date today so my total is more accurate to make me feel better. LOL.

  • All sounds positive forms of exercise twinklie :) have you got a wii fit then? that might be good for toning up? Also maybe something more gentle like pilates/yoga- may help with breathing stuff too? (Im not sure thats just my uneducated guess!)
I will have to remember Belle works as a good shredder when persuading mrtyo to get a dog! :rotfl:
    enjoy your sums! ;)
