Would you be offended by this: I can't decide if I am.

One of the women in my department asked one of the guys if they were going for promotion and he said "yes, I am going to apply for any job that comes up. I tried the PDL one but that was always going to you know who, and hopefully for this one HOD will base it on who deserves it the most”.

I also applied for the PDL one and just think the guy that got it probably just sold himself better - although I was miffed initially I can see their point that I didn't sell myself enough. However, I'm effectively doing the job now...or have at least started to do the job that this promotion is for (essentially I stated we have all this data and nothing to do with it - so I've started doing something with it), and I just find it slightly offensive that he said that whilst our HOD was in the room. To me it sounds like he was implying I don't deserve it!

Am I just being over sensitive?? Don't get me wrong I don't care, he wants the job I get that - it's not personal...but I still think. Whooa hold on a second.

No that's not a dig at you. From what you've said, it sounds like an inability to accept that he's not perfect. "I ought to be promoted so I'll keep trying for it. If I don't get any job I apply for, it must be because it wasn't fair, because I'm obviously the most amazing person ever."

    Hope you get the job!

Thanks guys. I've just got blocked from both my remaining questions. :rotfl: Nevermind, I'll call my team leader in a few minutes and get it sorted hopefully. DH has just risen from the dead so I'll wait for him to come down first. Then I can nip to the loo before calling her.

I've had a very slow start this morning. Really struggling to get going.

Team leader has been out this whole time so no marking done. :(

I have however written my job letter. Hope it's ok. I know I'll get interviewed...I just want the job though, thats the issue. Ha ha

I'm at 26% of the first question! It's an awful 2 parter that only counts as one question (it's a way to pay us less if you ask me). If you split it into 2 questions - I'm at 52% of one of them...that sounds more accomplished! :D

I'm hating this one though...not to mention I don't feel too brill for some reason. :( Bit of a dodgy tummy.

Ok so I got blocked out of that question. Not even at 50% of it. My team leader is out as well so there is nothing I can do about it. Boo. Will eat and then might make a start on the second one. There again, I might not and just get an early night. OOOh I can watch stuff on Iplayer. :D

That said, just checked my account and I have a lovely £474.49 waiting to clear in my account for part of the marking I've done! NICE! :D

    Cheers ears!

Anyone watching Camelot on C4. It's well dark and earthy. I can't decide if it's amazing or terrible and shocking. :rotfl:
