Had a lovely weekend, excellent time at the rugby - but we lost in the dying seconds. The hotel was nice but on the first night we got a 4am wake up call that we didn't order - a member of staff just walked in the room to wake us up!!! !!!!!!?

That's shocking! It must have given you both a helluva fright! Think I would be registeing a complaint too - no matter whether you had a wake-up call booked or not, that is no way to wake up guests!

Glad to hear you had a good weekend otehrwise.:D

To be fair we should have complained earlier if we were going to. But we didn't! Doh!

That sounds bizarre. I wouldn't have been able to sleep after that. I have never heard of anything like it, and i don't think it is too late to complain. ;)

No? How do you think I should complain? I didn't sleep much after it to be honest...every little creek woke me up. It was a hotel room where the lights come on automatically when the door opens as well so even after he left the lights were on...and the dead bolt was not on. RUDE RUDE RUDE!

    I've just finished my 11th question - 4 more to go. 73.3% done! :j

I'm going to try and get at least 50% of another question done tonight...ideally I'd finish a whole one to be back on track - not too bothered if I don't though. I'm pooped.

Is it a chain? write a letter to the manager of the place stating what happened, what time it was, and a description of the member of staff. Say you hadn't asked for the wake up call, but how you are concerned that this was the way it was done at this place. Tell them how it stopped you sleeping for the remainder of the night, and you are still upset by the event. Depends if you are cheeky enough to outright ask for a partial refund. I might lay it on a bit thick and say how it was a special weekend for you and DH, and it spoiled the whole occasion for you.

Ever heard the saying shy bairns get nowt? If the only thing you get out of it is they don't do that again, then it is a result. Seriously, i would have thought it was someone coming in the room for a sinister reason if it were me. I'd have been having a hissy fit at the hotel that morning as soon as there were more staff round. It is bang out of order, and i bet it isn't legit. Are you even sure it was a staff member?

Sorry, probably being a bit too strong there, but you need to look out for yourself, as no where is perfectly safe these days in my opinion.
