I STILL want to be mortgage free - 2011!

Right kids, interview is period 1 on Monday morning!
So with that in mind, what questions do you think I'll be asked. I've also been asked to go in with some sort of action plan. OMG!! Any ideas?
I know I know what I'm doing....I'm just flapping because I REALLY REALLY want this job. It's like being paid to play with spreadsheets. I'm not even joking....I would LOVE it.
I need to develop what sort of interventions I'd prioritise and what interventions I'd put in place. HELP!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Have you still got the list of Qs from last time? Any new ones that weren't on the list from last interview? Have you prepared an answer to the feedback you got last time? Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

It's a completely different job.
Last time was PDL, this time is science based intervention. My feedback was that I didn't sell myself enough. The questions I was asked last time don't really apply I don't think. Aside from the identifying students stuff...that is obviously a big part of it.
They said that it's going to be a relatively open ended interview to be honest....one or two questions then they want to hear me expand on my letter and explain my action plan.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

How would you structure intervention? What would you say the most important things to do as part of an intervention action plan?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Um, completely off the top of my head....
what are school/department priorities and targets, be familiar with development plans and quote them. Use data expertise to analyse which students need intervention in the light of development plans, maybe survey these kids about what helps/hinders them, brainstorm it in a dept mtg/come back with a strategy that you are fairly confident you can get dept staff on board with/involve parents/keep checking progress/modify strategy as needed/review in the light of results. Make it clear to SMT that something in the way of resources will help - even if its only squash and biscuits for revision sessions.
I think the most important things in intervention are
start early
listen to what kids have to say
involve parents early
expose kids to as much of the material as possible in the form of practice papers and importantly empower them to use the exam board's markscheme to pick up nuances of language e.g. definitions of reliability and validity
praise them like mad for taking part
shop them to their folks/heads of year if they don't
what do you think? Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Sounds good to me. I'd give you the job if is was my decision. You've thought a lot about it and it shows!

Right I have a 4 page document I have produced for the meeting. Lots of white space and mainly bullet point to enable me to expand on my points verbally. I honestly don't know what I could do extra, I'm at a loss. I've surprised myself with what I have come up with actually. I'd give me the job anyway. :-)
The HOD said the other guy has made a ppt etc, but I'm not going down that road. I have several spreadsheets I've created that I can show them...we shall see how it goes.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Break a leg, hon.
The danger with powerpoints is you end up reading them out, unless they are image-based, and that renders your audience either comatose or incandescent with rage...or is that just me?!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Thanks. I'd prob mess up switching between the spreadsheets etc anyway. But yeah, PowerPoint generally does lead to people just reading stuff out. Fingers crossed that's what he does. His wife to be is a 2nd in dept at her school so hopefully she won't be feeding him too much that I've not thought about.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
