Well done slowlyfading it's a great feeling isn't it!Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.

That does not mean however that we should 'p ussy foot around' or not say what we think.
Probably best that this is now put to bed and everyone moves on, along with how the thanks button is used and I hope you'll forgive me if I don't go through the thread thanking0 -

Yes I think it probably is - I've been going through the thread backwards hence being somewhat behind the times!
I really don't care one way or the other except when it seems to be used or not used in deliberately negative way.:AHere dead we lie because we did not choose

rubytuesday wrote: »Definitely with you on this Ceridwen. I've had the same experience myself when someone was particularly nasty about me and my good friend thanked her posts. She can't help herself she is the Thanking Queen!:rotfl:
I have to say, i dont actually check whos thanked my posts, although i do get an incredable 'lift' when i see one of my posts has been thanked and then an even bigger 'lift' when theirs 20 odd people who like something i have warbled on about! (like my last big post sometime lastnight/today).
when i joined MSE in Nov 2010, (yep, im that new!) or was it in Jan? hmm must have been Jan timeish, as im sure it was this thread, i 'noticed' someone didnt 'thank' me when i had answered a question on thier post, and i did take it as they didnt like me, but at the same time i was telling myself not to be soo stupid, no one on here 'knows' me, only what i tell you, and not totake anything personnally. I dont normally let things like that bother me, but looking back i wasnt sleeping, barely eating, and stressing about a late submission, and due to the lack of sleep/proper food, was being ratty with my son, and THAT makes me feel worse the most.
id like to say that this person that i had for some unknown reason (well i know the irrational reason, but if i say then it will be obvious who i thought didnt like me) singled out does comment on my posts and posts i comment abt them, and sometimes i have seen them 'thank' a post and other times ive not noticed thier name as i do a super quick scan whilst getting a wee 'lift'
For my recent psychology essay, i took out a book on 10 case studies (none where related to what i wanted, but read a few anyways) and one was on ocd - about a boy who took 3 hours to get washed! (i rememebr we where talking about ocds on here, his only started out with washing his hands a bit more and it progressed to not being able to go to school as he was afraid he'd get germs etc) the other was someone wanting to go the longest without sleep for a record --- think it was 9 days (?). some of the effects noted down was paranoia, the mind playing tricks, he kept seeing 'mice' scuttle about just out his line of vision (i get that, thats when i force myself to bed, no matter what im doing), hearing things, accussing those helping him that they where trying to kill him and loads of other symptoms.... shows just how much we really need sleep, and the link between lack of sleep to depression and other mental health issues.
RubyTuesday - put some vinegar in your water that you get washed with (pour some in your bath, dont worry, u wont smell like a chippy haha) as it helps bruising to heal quicker.
23rdspiral - I've had my ups and downs, and sometimes feel i've burdened you lovely peeps here a little too much.
thank you for the support you all give everyone, whether their frugality is to make ends meet or to pay off dept, or to save for redundancy or mortgage payments... it's a beautiful and rare thing these days.
i ditto what u say. I dont think many of my recent posts have been about being frugal; but to me they where needed as for me to be frugal, i need to sort out 'external' issues, and having a sounding board is always helpful, and im eternally greatfull to everyone; for letting my post stay, reading it (or ignoring it), commenting (or not) and yes, even thanking it or not.... it just shows how great everyone is on here, even though we are all soo different, from different areas, social classes (who says they dont exist lol), money bands, even including different religions and cultures/race.... i love that the anominity of these forums means we are not all judged by what we look like etc (can u tell i take sociology? haha) But we are all in the same boat - trying to be as frugal as we can/need/want to be. and we all deserve :T for ourselves/each other
Big thanks to all the responses to my fantastic news today... grinning from ear to ear here. I only went to get help with my dyslexia, as i just wanted it on my records for when people mark my work, they dont mark as harsh for my spelling/grammar, and from that they got me to say how bad my depression can be and they got me all that equipment. the dyslexia isnt going to be on my record, as the software now puts me at an even level with everyone else

You are right Lolalemon sleep is very, very important for Mental Health and lack of it for people with existing Mental Health problems can be a causing factor or a precursor of illness. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Was it a parsnip n pear one? i posted one for that... i got a bag of parsnips toight for 30p think ill be making soup tomorrow night instead of loads of crisps :rotfl:tumptyteapot wrote: »I make mine with soya milk and it comes out ok - it works well with soft cheese or feta and real milk too though - it's easy, just make a white sauce and add whatever cheese you are using - the full fat soft cheese works better than reduced fat though. If you want it properly vegan you can make it with yeast flakes - http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/detail/579698_Marigold_Engevita_Nutritional_Yeast_Flakes__125g.html which is expensive to get initially but lasts ages, stuffed full of B12 too.
It's easy to make ricotta, £1 on milk at Mr L makes loads of ricotta - you just heat it gently, add the juice of a lemon, salt and a little vinegar, stir slowly and when it curdles pour it into a sieve with a bit of muslin over the top and leave for a few hours - you then have buttermilk for pancakes too!
So do i use the flakes instead of cheese? ill have a look into them
Ive never had ricotta, but will bookmark this for future use, thank youLiving Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Thank-gate! i'll just ditto what others have said: i 'thank' if i find the post helpful, if someone says something funny or heartwarming, if it's a recipie i like or a idea or hint, if i they say what i'm thinking, if it gives me pause for though, if i feel soladarity for what the person is going through...
we are all very supportive of each other here, and i'm sure no-one has judged you for buying a new ironing board. in one post i wished you and the ratties well, and you then quoted me and said you weren't ill just peeved. i think you were a little quick to judge me unfairly there. i wasnt going to say anything but it's been bothering me, and is quite a good example of how we can all read into things that maybe the poster didnt intend, and how our posts can affect people without us realising sometimes.
I've had my ups and downs, and sometimes feel i've burdened you lovely peeps here a little too much.

We all have our turns at needing support so dont give it another thought, you were welcome and I hope that whatever you needed you received in huge armfuls.23rdspiral wrote: »soo many pages to catch up on! good job OH is out tonight and i've nothing else to do! i think i'll do it in batches, so bare with me, or ignore me!!
hope everyone had a nice weekend? i took advantage of the sun and emptied the back door shelves out onto our patio! i reduced by 1/3 :eek:and put it all back neatly in order - camping/ bbq/ diy/ gardening

it was me!you're very welcome.
that makes sense! i didnt like to say i wasnt sure in case i'd forgotten!! still, now you come to mention it, the recipie would be quite nice to have for next year...;)
So pleased I took some of your jam jar suggestions onboard, I need to have an extension now to house them all.:rotfl:Please will somebody post the recipe for parsnip soup I missed it last time and now cant find it again.woohoo! just got my letter in from SAAS abt my help with dyslexia n depression.. im getting £1377 for equipment!

Fan....bloomin....tastic LoLe you must be over the moon about your good news. Whoopee and such sounds of celebration.
Guess what I've been doing tonight? I've made 6lbs of mixed fruit marmalade, and 3lbs of lemon curd.....just for a change I hasten to add.;) All the pots, graters, whisks, etc are washed up and will dry overnight as all my washing up does. I have to admit a little and often gets my jobs done, I usually work in bite size pieces but I did go a bit mad this evening. My sales outside on the verge are going well considering we don't have more than twenty cars a day...or thereabouts that is, well maybe a few more but not many anyway. XXKeep to £400 a month on C/C.

Basically it's basking in the moon's beams opening the crown chraka and sending up a violet beam, asking a question blah, blah, blah and feeling somewhat silly! :rotfl:
I wasn't paying too much attention as I was in pain and needed to get home!
Here's another version.

:rotfl: think I'll stick to summat a sight less embarrassing - as in "switch off all sound - ask mental questions and then LISTEN". Dinnae know who/what is the "still small voice" coming back with answers - could be my Higher Self, could be my guide, goodness only knows - but she?/he?it? talks a lot more sense than I do sometimes:rotfl:(not hard at those times when I get a bit "emotional".....)0 -
Morning
Haven't posted in a few days about anything frugal, mainly as I haven't felt very frugalI have all my receipts ready though and an hour with the SoW awaits me tonight...!
It's payday tomorrow, so I'm going to sort out the finances tonight and post later on to confirm if I've been frugal or not
Dinner on Sunday was a roast chicken (tasty Willow Farm one from Tesco, reduced to £2.45) and I made enough leftover yumminess from it last night to feed myself and Mr Fresian for dinner and to give me some tasty lunch.
I've been trying to get my head around the current Te$co DTD promotion, but think you have to be a bit smarter than me to actually profit :rotfl: I think I might leave it to the professional MSE-ers!
Hope everyone is getting on ok with their frugalising.....Frugaldom, it was nice to "see" you online. You're an inspiration to folk like me who sometimes feel like they're playing at frugalising!

Flying I've got to pad (and pray I don't bash the OD anymore this month  - literally don't know how folk can be frugal without prayer
)
Not reading the posts....not happy with this thread right now
But just to let Nuala know I also now have RSI and you can get exercises online......(I got diagnosed yesterday and I got the antipsychotics decreased) - I've pmed you some hun but google if not..
Anyhow will put my pad on later FF..half asleep from another bad night's sleep.....tis life...will cope...
I know we don't always get on FF but I have a lot of time and respect for you and pray we can be amiable...(that's prolly more to do with me than you so I'm trying not to be offensive and I pray this doesn't get lost in translation)
As for everyone else....I just need a break from FL (though not my budget) right now...it's just being counter productive and I don't like being dog like and some of the posts on here are way too offensive (yet you guys tell me I'm being offensive for complaining. The only thing - and it's pretty serious and I admit I'm doing this wrong - is publically reproving when it should be a private one at the first instance - that is an old habit but a wrong een)
