If you see language you don't like then block the poster if you feel strongly about it, or consider OMG to stand for "Oh my goodness" or !!!!!! to be "for flips sake". You cannot presume to tell people who the one true and living god is, many of us won't believe that. I personally don't believe in god at all and strongly dislike being told what to say by others on that basis.
Others have used that phrase before without mention by yourself or others. You did say in your post that you've not been well, are you maybe taking things a bit more personally again? Is there anything that we can do to help/support you?
Actually my taking offence here is nothing to do with being unwell. I feel the same when I hear in the street/on the bus - even the f word @ the down and outs drop in upsets me... It's about my faith.....
And you can say that you take offence at being told there is one true and living God but if you look @ history you'll find that our country was most prosperous when it was a nation of the Book....I can debate this till the cows come home...it's easy. I'm hiding behind a screen and the paranoia will come later....:).
There is so much evidence for this it's overwhelming (ever read Josephus? Neither have I but he is proof of Jesus' existence).
I have had so many dreams about friends and relatives going to Hell lately whilst I mean no harm I feel it's my job to put a stop sign at the edge of the cliff on this one. As the old prophet said.....there is a heaven to be won(not that I believe in salvation by works either but I do believe that if we love him we will try to keep the commandments as it says in I believe 1 John) and a hell to shun...NOTHING in this life is as bad as Hell.......just hold onto that...23rdspiral wrote: »I have to say that i agree wholeheartidly with Flying Fresian.
Erme - i think Minnie was probably just using a very common form of expression to express her understandable dispare at her situation.
Also, and i feel i have to say this, that personally i could take great offence at being told that your god is the 'one true and living god'. That perspective does not fit with my own religious views, as I am not christian. But i'm not actually offended, as i know my own mind and if my perception of divinity could be affected by such a statement then for me it wouldnt be worth respecting! I have no issues with the christian view of god, and i really do respect you for your strong and passionate beliefs.
so i am sorry you were upset by the use of that phrase. It was in the news last week, so maybe you're more sensative to it now than before? Keep taking care of yourself and your ratties.
See above...I have been not 100% but I never wanted to every time I challenge someone to be dismissed as 'illness'rubytuesday wrote: »Well I'm quite sure Erme does not go out of her way looking for offense It is genuinely down to her religious convictions. Anyway I hope she's ok.
Anyone heard from Naula?
Thanks no I haven't heard from Nuala but I hope she's okay.....I am only upto page 180 (where have the days gone? LOL) I've been praying she gets this disability allowance..
Anyhow meds got upped on Monday and on Tuesday I had sewing class then took meds and crashed...
Menu planning hasn't happened this week  and the ratties need another trip to the vets on Monday to get claws clipped...that'll be another £5 - also OD is through the roof (almost 300:eek:) so like that's where the cashback on the mobile will go when I apply for it...(£100) and I'm off to Inverness on the 23rd (don't know if I will have net access or not) for the w/e so like well...there's no money spare this fortnight that's for sure....
Smoking for some reason is back upto high levelsso I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I will sort it when more well...no more nicotine OD that's for sure...maybe patch and puffer? or just spray for the first week then patch and puffer. The Lord will guide. :T....
So yeah folk are right I should have an emergency fund but I spent that on the new washing machine  so that was that...
Anyhow it's supposed to snow here today and there's been another tsunami in Japan apparently - so many souls so quickly flung into eternity - many without Christ..the thought of ANYONE going to Hell makes me very sad..

I was in Morrisons earlier and they had bags of tatties (potatoes if you're in the south!) for 30p
I thought they were a good buy and they had mushrooms for 30p too.
No other frugal fun for me today I'm afraid, I'll be back tomorrow with news maybe!
I keep saying I'm going to go to Mr M and that's about as far as I get...lost my cous cous and lemon juice (unblocked the sink and it was really bad with a combo of lemon juice; bicarb and fabric conditioner @ weekend) so not feeling fab as currently lunches consist of cous cous and like chopped raw veggies in the fp....Love the fp...love my new washing machine too. It's working okay now :T
Also got a good (well good if you discount the title ) book from charity shop on knitting hats for 'work' yesterday for £1.50 instead of £5 - considering where my head was (wanting to get a £35 a mth mobile contract or upgrade online - neither of which I can afford) I was quite pleased...
Anyhow free breakfast somewhere in town (not exactly sure where - it's on a wed/thurs and friday) that I have to go and investigate now - if I can stay upright on these increased meds LOL
Sorry to hear about your anniversary EFC (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((EFC))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

thank you for the well wishes. what's going on in the pacific makes me feel very humble and puts my problems into perspective.
it's such a truely aweful day. so many billions of people right now are terrified for their lives and livelihoods. the Tsunami is expected to be higher than some Pacific Islands. there is no 'higher ground' to run to.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Just been digging my veg patch (it's grass at the mo), I'm so unfit!!!
I have decided to grow spuds, onions, leeks, carrots so far. Will do tomoatoes, courgettes and lettece in pots. Will also grow beans / peas hopefully. They are all things we eat so it makes sense! I feel like I'm a little bit behind with it all but things seem to grow quick in my soil so fingers crossed.Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Just been catching up with all of the posts. Well done to you Natnat13 I have an area to do and really can't get myself motivated to get the spade out. Lugged some wood into my car from my sisters house, they've had 3 big trees cut down so wanted to make the most of it, now that my chimney is fantastically lined and no longer makes me feel like a kipper!!!
Big big hugs to all of you who are experiencing harder than usual times. My heart goes out to you all. Take Care.0 -

I'm growing my spuds in flower buckets again this year (bought from Mr M last year - 99p for 6). Make it sooooo much easier to harvest them, as all I have to do is up-end the buckets and then grub around in the soilCheryl0 -

A low spend day for me. I took the jeans for my daughter back to the charity shop and got a refund as they were too short. She has the longest legs ever!
I found another pair for her in another charity shop for 2.50 but she thinks they look to big! I give up now - she'll have to get some new ones I suppose as she is growing out of her size 8's! I found myself a pair for 2.50 too. I am still losing weight but very, very slowly!
I had my pancakes tonight! I'm a very pleased with my new pan as it made the best pancakes ever (or was that me?) They were a perfect shape and thickness. Lemon and sugar only of course and eaten with a knife and fork!;)Here dead we lie because we did not choose

found a top and matching trousers at the charity shop today. They are in a shade of dark blue that really suits me. It is a sort of ribbed fabric, looks like corduroy, but is soft polyester type. The top is shirt collared, with a small zip at the neck, in a good style for me. The trousers are the perfect length too, which is often a problem for me as I need a 34" inside leg, so things are often too short.
then I also spotted the exact same top and trousers in a dark purple, my favorite colour
I will need to get the sewing machine out as the trousers are a bit too big, but that won't take long
the style is such that I can do my Pilates class in them too, as the design is meant to be loose fitting
so, 2 new outfits for spring, autumn and the cooler days of summer, for a total of £12 - result!
only problem is, I have started a new diet (again) and am losing a few pounds, so may (with luck) have to take them in again before the summer
also found 2 pretty little summer dresses for my 3 year old DGD for £1.49 each0
