Aren't women great!! :T We've got Mummies-in-waiting, and those awaiting ops, sorting out carrier bags of clothes for their LOs, so their DHs don't put them in mis-matched clothes. We have those battling with various illnesses, still worrying about others, and then we have those awaiting their P45s, still keeping cheerful.
Just remembered another thing the Sainted Ma Ingles would do and say, when really surprised. She would lower herself into a chair, with hands either side of her face, and say "My Land", only Laura always wrote "my land!". Ma never lost her temper, and if she was really cross, or irritated, she would "fold her lips" and breathe deeply. Bit like all of us really!!
23rd spiral This must be such a worrying time, and I know it's easier for any of us reading of your situation, than it is for you, going through it, but hopefully you will find a new employer, worthy of your multi-faceted skills.
DH asleep, he is so tired, but had a much better colour today.Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Flying Fresian - your CV advice is invaluable... as is others contributions. V kind of you to give real examples Lesley.
hope you're feelign less under the weather Ruby?
good luck miniie with your re-dedication to the challenge!
well the summons to HR was for the BIG R notice... though as the real woman couldnt attend i got a lovely lacky, so i haven't actually had the letter but must consider myself On Notice anyway.
i just love my job and the people there and i'm good at it but its really specialised, so i just have so much trouble thinking of what else i could do.
So i've 12 weeks left - i had thought they'd let me go at the end of March, so it's more employment than i thought, which will make the SoW happy re my car expenses etc so i really cant complain too much. i'm realieved to actually know, and although i saw it comming i feel so deflated.
23rdspiral Even though you feel deflated now at least the uncertainty is over and you know what you have to cope with which in may ways is easier than just waiting. As my Mum used to say when one door closes another opens, so lets hope thats how it is for you. Hugs to you, thinking of you, and sending good job wishes on wards to just about where you live.
a group hug to all that need or want it x
It looks like I've posted the above but in fact I'm one of the beneficiaries, thanks. I think I'm probably the one in the front middle, the one with the look of surprise on her face. Meant to post earlier to say:
I was in Morrisons earlier and they had bags of tatties (potatoes if you're in the south!) for 30p
I thought they were a good buy and they had mushrooms for 30p too.
No other frugal fun for me today I'm afraid, I'll be back tomorrow with news maybe!

I keep forgetting to say I finished reading the Complete Tightwad Gazette the other day. I'm afraid I was rather disappointed by it!Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Well - it looks like my date's off
But at least it will save me some pennies
Was told early yesterday evening he's been asked to cover Friday night (Thursday as well) as someone's off ill, so he suggested re-arranging for some time next week - which I said was fine with me.
BUT when he called me I was on the phone to my friend. So after I got off that call I'd called him back.
After the discussion about re-arranging the meet he jokingly made some comment about thinking I was ignoring him as I'd not picked up, and I just said that I'd been chatting to a friend on the phone so couldn't pick up his call (they use different numbers!). He then referred to friend as 'she', and I corrected him (although I admit I was momentarily tempted to let it ride - just didn't fancy the explanations later). Seemed to take the wind out of his sails at first, but we then chatted some more and he said he'd call again later in the evening.
He didn't call back, hasn't responded to a general text I sent this morning, and hasn't responded to a follow-up text I sent this evening. So I guess he's someone who doesn't see opposite sex friends as being viable as just that...... his tough luck says I !!
I rarely post but just wanted to say I hope that either way it all works out for the best. Sending (((hugs))).Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -

Now im intriegued:rotfl:
I've been up since Early O'Clock this morning so am now up to date with my spreadsheet input and it's looking pretty good. All the columns are green at the moment, although I don't know how much longer that will last :rotfl: I still need to add on my Ebay sales to the Others category, but I've still made more money than I've spent on "Other spends" this month so I'm happy with that.
I've only spent £67 on groceries this month which for me is pretty good. We still have a lot of meat in the freezer and the cupboards are looking quite good too, so I'm hopeful that I'll be on budget by the end of the month.
In good news, we've been given permission to pay a cheque into the bank that we received for Christmas. The money was a Christmas present from Mr Fresian's parents and I'd already spent a little of it in advance (Only £160 though, and it was essential as my laptop died and needed a new part!) As it took so long for us to be told we could cash the cheque, I repaid my credit card from my savings and so when I pay in the cheque I can put £160 of it towards my car insurance which is due next week - good timing or what?! :j
The rest of the money is being used to make Mr Fresian debt-free and to book us a holiday somewhere in Europe either this year or next. Once the money is cleared I'm going to order our passports as they have expired and then we can start shopping for holidays
Better get myself to work now....looks like we're going to be getting snow today so I want to get into the warm as soon as I can! Have a good Friday all

ah i see now, how exciting about the cheque, a holiday somewhere warm sounds sooo appealing especially if you are getting snow.
