I.m.hart goodness me what a day! Your poor daughter too that does not sound nice! Hope it gets sorted for her soon!
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

my day today has been a bit of a rollercoaster.after droping dd2 at school i raced 5 miles or so to pick dd1 up to take her to hospital for 9am.Managed to grab a free parking space:j got to her appointment at dead on 9, saw registrar who looked in her ear( lots of problems and ops since she was a baby now 19) she had peforforated her eardrum about 2 weeks ago and we were lucky to get back into the hospital system. she has polops, not sure of spelling which are coming through hole in eardrum which could prevent eardrum healing. we go back in 2 weeks and if not healed in 4 weeks an operation will be needed:(
then had to go to ds to wait for a man to come his flats operate a permit system so let a note to say where i was and that i had just gone to get a permit, ran up 3 flights of stairs not easy, came down to see a van by my car , thought it was the electrician i was waiting for so said hi, he then informed me he had clamped my car:eek: i explained i had let a huge note sayong gone for permit and time and showed him permit and luckily he removed clamp, he said im supposed to wait 10 mins but couldnt be bothered to wait around.
Had good news about dd2 bf.s car is going to cost us £130 so im very relieved:j
warning light was coming on in my car for clutch/brake fluid so spent £10.99 on some and then realised it wasnt humanly possible to reach where it was supposed to go, went to a lovely small garage and he pulled out something similar to a turley baster with a little plastic tube on it and filled it for me,i gave him £20 for his trouble as i would have had to pay a fortune no doubt if gone elsewhere.
so all in all a hectic and eventfull day,
next problem for the future is if dd1 needs a op how do i cope with dh not being able to be told as the two of them are estranged and she doesnt want him to know:eek:but i will leave that dilema for another day . sorry rant over.
    x

You were lucky about being un-clamped and just fancy the cheeky devil saying he couldn't be bothered to wait the 10mins, no point in having rules if he doesn't follow them, no wonder there are so many irrate motorist around.

You are also very fortunate that dd bf car repairs are not as big as expected. What a relief that must be.

Regarding your dd1 as she is now 19 she is an adult and its up to her who she tells if she is in hospital or not, I don't see the dilemma there if you don't tell dh about it as you are just doing what she wants, she has her reasons and you need to respect her for that. Whether you agree or not is irrelevant, removing polyps isn't a major operation and she will only be in hospital for a short while so only answer those questions that are asked then you wont lie to anybody. You are a bit piggy in the middle over this but if dh asks why you didn't tell him all you need say is because she didn't want him to know, after all he must know the situation between them. Thats how I would cope with a similar situation TBH, I hope my opinion will help you when you come to deal with it but its you who has to live with them both but being open and up front with them both seems the best way.

Many thanks to all who sent me your kind wishes, I didn't announce it out public to get sympathy but because I felt so sad last night and couldn't initially think why, some years its worse than others and this year I felt really sad probably because I'm getting older and DD isn't. XXX to you all. E
    Keep to £400 a month on C/C.

I started a new diet this week. I realized that eating right helps you save tons of money. I've really stopped depending on the fast food places.

Oh Dear -I'm such a naughty girl. I'd hoped to get a few NSD's in but I filled in my own SoW & realised I've spent every day :(
Sunday - Paper & Flowers for my BF (Best Friend!) as it was her Wedding anniversary
Monday - Another friend wanted me to walk with her as it was a nice day, shame she wanted to go to the local town so £1 on poundland on some pots & £6.99 in TKX on a cooking fork and an enamelled dish. (I did come home & throw out the old fork & 2 old dishes)
Tuesday - DH & I decided we'd have a little daytrip & a beach walk. Ended up buying a Paeony in the garden centre (Oh no - DH bought that!) 3 books for me & 2 audio tapes for my Godmother who has sight problems.
Today - Mr L - 2 lots of Muesli, 1 for me & 1 for a friend who's on strong pain killers & they're 'backing up' his system! I thought the fruit & nuts may help naturally instead of more 'stuff' to make you 'go'
Hope no one's having their tea!!
Hugs to LMH & even bigger hug to EFC

A mega spend day for me today, but I don't care -shameless hussy that I am! It's our anniversary next week, and we bought a new mower from B & Q as a gift to each other! As it was a Wednesday, we got 10% off as well.

Now I need some advice. Year by year, we are replacing all our cracked and very heavy large terra cotta planter pots with plastic ones. We have about 30 of these in the garden, and it's great, cos DH can sit down to plant them up, and then I put them wherever there is a space. Then when we want to, we move them to other parts of the garden.:)

Anyway, I need about 12 new pots and I wondered if anyone had seen them in the Pound Shop, 99p shop or Wilkinsons yet? I fell in love with some medium sized ones, with sort of mock "carving" around the rim - but they were £18, after discount, in B & Q. :(

    xx

enjoyfinancialchallenges - I'm so sorry for your loss. Though please dont apologise. I completely agree with what Sandra said on that. You said you didnt realise that it was getting to you so much till you started writing... i'm not surprised - there's something in the act of writing that opens up our subconscious and is ultimately very healthy. (- gosh what a hippy moment!)
EFC - what a sad day for you. It must be so painful for you, and you're not unburdening yourself by telling us. In fact, I think it has the opposite effect, as it makes us all treasure what we have.

thanks Wrenlegs - i'll do that. i dont know why it worried me so. i'll put them in a tub and freeze. cheers!

i spent again today. i think i'm more worried about HR tomorow that i'm letting myself realise as i'm spending more than i should and i'm over eating. oh well. at least some of my spends today were on new glasses. 50 from Asda... i wanted them in Jan but they were out of stock and i couldnt find any i liked as much without spending 150 + which isnt an option. so in less than 2 weeks i'll be: dancing1.gif

(sorry dotn know why i did that as 2 diff posts).

Evening eveyone (still trying to catch up on all the posts)!

Was told today that my job's very likely to go in the next few months :(- not entirely unexpected and have been looking around for a while but there's nothing nearby (60 mile commute to the City & with the price of fuel & medical issues in the mornings, it's not really feasible).

Thought I'd better try to sort out my CV in case I do see something - I'm sure I've seen someone on the boards who's good with these (can't remember if it's here on on the DFW board:o).

    I'm really stuck with:

    a) I've had quite a few jobs (yes, getting on a bit) - how far back do I list them?
    b) I've had some really good jobs but these have periods of temping either side of them (moved a lot when I was younger!) - should I leave these out but this would mean I would need to leave the dates off so it doesn't look like there's big breaks between the jobs?
    c) I'm really struggling with how to list my current job - I've been with the same company for several years but have had 2 secondments from my "real" job while I've been there (again if I put dates down, it'll look odd that I've gone for a "higher" job then back again?)
    d) I'm currently "unofficially" seconded from my current job again - this is the type of work I really want to do, but how do I show this as being separate from my real job as what I'm doing bears no relevance to my job title?

    Arrrrrggggggh
Any tips would be HUGELY appreciated:).
    Thanks
