Whoa whoa whoa there now spiral. Do not apologise for feeling down :silenced: Everyone feels like this at some time or another and I think with all the stuff going on at the moment in your life no wonder you feel like this. And if you don't post on here when you're down how can we give you a virtual hug?
Take care.

we're lucky that the damage stopped 2 houses down from us, but i feel aweful for our neighbours having to fork out for someone elses careless attitute to buying insurance, drink driving and failing to stop at a mini roundabout. the driver couldnt have cared less - saying "it's my birthday and its only a wall"
Possibly, though, your neighbours don't have to pay out, though they might have to brace themselves for a struggle. A few years ago I had the same thing: an uninsured drunk driver wrote off my car by losing control and crashing into it (it was parked at the time - I'm SO glad I wasn't sitting inside). At first he said he was insured, then it turned out he wasn't, and it took a while to get to the bottom of all his lies. I had legal aid from my insurance policy and they acted for me and took the ****er to County Court: he'd brazened it out for months but in the end he had to cough up. PLUS I think there is some sort of scheme or fund operated by insurance companies for people victimised by uninsured drivers - have a look on the website for the Motor Insurers' Bureau. If your neighbours spoke to him I assume they got his registration number?'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

WHAT ???????:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Don't think my blood pressure can stand too much of this kind of thing! It was only a wall because nobody happened to be in front of it at the time - no thanks to him!

Thanks Redglass - partly for joining me in anger! and partly for your good advice. i'll point my neighbour to that website, Thankyou. his car was quite trashed so yes to reg no.
we called the police as we knew one neighbour was away, and they came very quickly, asking us to keep an eye in case they tried to leg it! we are very impressed with police and fire service actually.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. An NSD for me today. I got up at eleven, had a fry up and went back to bed until six and I'm still feeling exhausted!
I just remembered I bought this mug for OH for Valentines and have absolutely no idea where I've put it!:rotfl:

Hi all - VERY BIG hugs to all who need them & there seem to be quite a few lately, but hang in there - plenty of TLC & support here.
applemint - like quite a few other people I've successfully dyed quite a few things in my washing machine. Small items get done in an old brown enamel saucepan (belonged to my grandad & still useful!) large items in the machine - I've used both the proper machine wash dyes & also the little tins in my machine - just remember that when you wash dyed items the colour is not colour fast so be careful what you put them with. I used to wash DH overalls afterwards just to make sure the machine was clean but I dont think its really necessary. Natural fibres work best & as previously posted certain fibres dont take up the dye so well - but sometimes you get a lovely effect that you wer'n't expecting!
k
I think I'm going to try the machine dye first Silvasava, just to be on the safe side, but I quite like the idea of being a bit more adventurous with the little tins of dye and trying some more unusual effects. I missed out on the whole tie-dye thing in my teamsEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
( i'm just gonna put this out there to see if i can quell any fire before it happens, unlike of Facebk. i just want to state i dont care that it was an eastern european driver for any other reason that it might make it harder to persue them through the small claims court for getting the costs/insurance excess back as that is logicaly more of a problem if they are not UK nationals/permanent residents and especially as they could just leave and return to their home country.)
for not making that instantly clear on FB i got flamed big style. fair enough. but i then got flamed for calling the police, for interefereing and for being a responsable neighbour. i give up. i'm going to go away from the compuer and open some wine. luckily my real life neighbour is thankful i did call the police. have a good evening everyone.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23.
