Congratulations Grandma - what lovely, cheerful news
A little, darling baby girl, a precious gift to choose
For though you may be distant as far as journeys go
That blessed little angel, will know you love her so :A
For when you have a daughter, or when you have a son
It's fair to say that every day is not a ball of fun!
But when you have a grandchild, well that's a different matter
An innocent of sheer delight, who'll smile at you, and chatter
She'll know how much you love her, and in turn she brings you pleasure
A little friend to cherish who'll be your special treasure
So once again I send you, the very very best
You'll find that you'll feel younger, full of energy and zest! :j
Today's the day that Cupid, with love, will shoot his dart
Today he found the bullseye, in Grandma's happy heart :heart2:
Some people yearn for riches like a diamond or a pearl
But your reward is priceless - a lovely little girl! :hello:

To dear Grandma,
Congratulations and love from me.

Congratulations Grandma247.
What a lovely poem. My favourite extract is this - I think there's more to it, must Google...
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow
For babies grow up, we learn to our sorrow
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep
I've had a tiny, yellowing magazine cutting of this poem pinned on my kitchen corkboard for 24 years. My littlest baby is now 19.0 -
Congratulations Grandma! I bet that you can't speak
For you've increased your "Grandmahood", twice within a week! :j
Your arms will soon be doubly full, with precious gifts to cuddle
And you won't care the slightest, if your house is in a muddle! :A
For God gave every Grandma, a special comfy lap
For Little Ones to climb upon, for a kiss, a hug, a nap
And Grandma though I'm sure you'd like to have a slim, trim figure
You've twice the fun, two babes - not one, so I hope he's made yours bigger!!

Hi all - I also had 2 arrivals this week ....... THE DREADED WILLIAMS!:eek::eek: I've been paying just under £100 a month for gas and leccy, and though we owed about £20 on the gas, we were in credit for £16 with the electric, so they cancelled each other out.
But my Twin King Williams mean that I owe £300!!!!! My poor DH feels the cold so much that I have to keep him warm, and frankly I think that now he's in his 70s, he deserves to have the heating on and not be nagged to put a coat on indoors.
Added to that I have had a motley collection of other things to pay, but that's the way it goes, and I'm just glad that we have the money. Anyway, there are no pockets in a shroud.;)
Hope everyone has a great weekend, and, on Monday, we'll only have a week left till the end of the month.

Thanks everyone and thanks for the extra bit Sandra.
Baby 2 was 1 week and four days early but the timing couldnt have been better as her daddy starts a new job tomorrow. It should have been Monday but they rang and asked if he could go in thursday instead. It means I am doing the school run for a bit though but I don't mind. Had the boys to tea to give mum and dad a break and took them home just in time for a cuddle and bed.0 -
DD24, in a strop: "WHY is all that flour in the freezer?"
Me: "Bought more than usual as reduced, a bag in the cupboard and the rest in the freezer to prevent weevils - not that weevils are a health hazard. If you sieve the flour they can just be tipped out of the sieve.
DD24: "OMG Mum, your hygiene standards really are in a different league, that's utterly disgusting...".
Oh well, I guess she won't be eating any of my bread, cakes and crumbles again!:rotfl:
lol, can just imagine your DD24!
I made a rice pudding the other night, not made one for years, had been really looking forward to it since I'd planned the weeks menu's the week before.
DS18 says, as I place the dish in front of him, OMG Mum, that looks so like maggots...
subsequently, neither he nor DS15 would touch it!
result~ frozen rice pudding in the freezer for me another day!The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -

Congratulations again, 2 babies in a week? im jealous! (although if my 3 year old came in with that news, id be somewhat very shocked)
Twiglet, i have that same poem on my old bebo page... just logged in to see how much more i have, and am now being serinaded by Habib Koite & bamada - Din Din Wo (little child).... fantastic song... one i got free on my fone....
anyways heres what i had on my bebo from that poem
The Reason My House Is A Mess!ღღღღღღღღღღღღღღღღღღღ
I hope that my child looking back on today,
Remembers a mother who had time to play,
Children grow so fast when you're not looking,
They'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking,
So hush now cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
ღღღღღღღღღღღღღღi think i read it on someone elses bebo page and 'stole' it, so have no idea who the author is to gove credit...
hope everyone is all ok?
sorry im hopeless at remembering names and posts that i was going to comment on, unless i tick them all
i felt a lot better today, took wee man a 'run' to our nearest pets at home store to have a look at the animals whilst i check out chicken coops and price chicken wire, feed etc... and they only had the food n some egg boxes. 1 chicken coop which is reduced as broken - it was wooden and i need plastic, as i know i wouldnt take as good care of the wooden one as i should, whereas a plastic one is easier to maintain. bought a chicken book, that ive been looking for for a while...
wee had a look at the fish and decided to buy some apple snails (2 for £3) for our fish tank, then seen some crabs, so wee wanted them (2 for £7), then we seen the frogs. cue the snot n tears when i said we would have to come back another time (this is a recent thing that he has started to try out, mostly happens after he comes home from his dads -grr- doesnt wash with me tho). we didnt get anything, as the girl wouldnt sell us any as i dont have a filter in my fish tank, which is stupid, as the tank i have they sell, so how can they sell them without allowing customers to buy the live animals?
On way home, went to Mr T to get milk and batteries (for my wii fitt board)... came out with 3 bags full, got dinner at 35p each (chicken bacon pasta salad layer thing.. my son loves that pasta) everything i had in my trolly was reduced! apart from gthe clothes, BUT that was even reduced due to spending over £25 on clothes (new 3 in 1 jacket for son, £18 so got him a shirt with hoodie underneath too at £10 and got £5 off)
load of perfectly good fruit all under 79p a bag... picked up some goats butter, couldnt get any hard goats cheesewanted to make a cheese sauce for some pasta too
.... the food came to about £10, £3 on a new scooby doo dvd, rest was on the clothes, all under £40, which was what i had with me.... and i forgot the blimmin batteries!
want to see how much weight ive lost from this illness.... cough came back with a venganceits making me dizzy when coughing, and feeling very sick at same time too
defo's goingto drs tomorrow, wether i feel ok in the morning or not.
hope everyones good.... and doing better at being frugal than me! catching up on 'my big fat gypsy wedding' really feel for them ... too much prejiduce in this country for my liking!!Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Thanks for the link - I hadn't tried the receipe but will do tonight I think. Can it be done in the kenwood? or do I have to do it by hand?
My previous problems could be that my yeast is too old. I have had it a fair while - good intentions and all that. Will pick up some more later when I take tiddlywink to Brownies.
I did mine by hand but whoever posted the recipe starts it off in the breadmaker and then kneads by hand. So I'm sure the kenwood would be fine.
Oooh just read your next post Diddly. Well done!:jHere dead we lie because we did not choose

Exactly Lolalemon there's a thread in the Arms and I've been a bit shocked by some of the comments even from posters I generally find lovely!

A bit of spend day today. Went to Ikea with my friend. She bought me lunch - swedish meatballs yum, yum and later I bought drinks and orange tart. I didn't go too mad - there was a lot I would have liked - particularly some lovely cushions but I just bought some jars for chiili jam, some large ones for cereal and a couple of rag rug type bath mats just over a quid, a lovely cheap carafe and spice jars and some 'over' flowering bulbs very cheap.
It's so tiring though. I can't face it too often! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
