It's lovely of you all to say such nice things about my poems, but it's nothing special - it's just something I can do. When I write something, I know what I want to say, and it's just a case of making the lines scan, and rhyme.
Now what I call really special, is what so many of you do every day. You face adversity head on, you make every £ do the work of 2 (at least), you produce the most beautiful cards, cakes and other goodies, you think up amazing recipes, and you're often doing this whilst holding down a job, and looking after a family - and frequently, an extended family.
How do you do it? Because it's something you just do. It's often a struggle, and sometimes you feel like a lone soldier against an army, but do you give up? Never! God might have made Adam first, but he left the best to last! And if I'd been Eve, and there had been a bar of chocolate lying about in Eden, I'd have left the apple!
Carry on Frugalistas - you're marvellous! :j:j:j

Thank you so much to everyone for your kind wishes ... you are helping me feel better already!
And I am enjoying the puns too!
EFC - It wasn't ebay, I stuck the jars on freecycle, didn't occur to me anyone would give money for them! I'd just be happy to send them to a good home - pity I don't live near you! Maybe we don't have many preservers around! Our freecycle moves very fast though so I might list them on one of the other similar sites where you can offer things for free. We have another run by the council and I seem to get more replies from that ... not sure how many are serious, it's hard weeding out the timewasters.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Ooh I forgot to say (you may have realized I am very forgetful:rotfl:) that I made my best bread and butter pudding ever tonight! Don't know why it turned out so good didn't even bother with a recipe. Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Is having a frustrating week - I can't get the hang of this HM Bread lark. I've made 3 loaves now and none seem right. Having trouble getting them to rise and they are very dense when cooked - not at all open.
Oh well keep trying.Donna

Have a good day everyone :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Emma :hello:0 -
diddly are you using a breadmaker? I have found that you need to use very warm liquid in it especially if you use the fast setting. Also if your kitchen is cold you need to leave it much longer to rise higher and maybe warmer liquid in it.
New baby girl arrived this morning at 5.30am. Mum shattered as had expected things to go quicker but not the place to rant here about it. 6lb8oz 1 week and 4 days early, but don't know the name yet.0 -

Diddly did you try the Hugh Fearnley hairy bottom recipe posted by someone ( sorry?????) It's really good although the dough is very wet so quite hard to work with but the results are fantastic!

Congratulations Grandma - to you and the new parents.
I was not using a breadmaker. I have one but want to be able to make loaves in tins in my oven.
I don't really have an airing cupboard so have problems rising the dough.Donna
