Great news for you. I went through a period of umpteen pregnancy tests at one point, with my DS's in their teens. Turned out to be an earlier menopause, than for most. If it happens again diddly, you can request hormone tests from the GP's who could advise if it's hormal disturbances, rather than pregnancy.

Baby arrived at 12.30 today. It's a girl weighing 8lb7oz. They gave her my middle name as her middle name. I am not sure they realise so will have to ask when I speak to dd again, she phoned me while in recovery. Will not see the baby for a few days as it is a good few miles away so will wait till they are home.

    Congratulations grandma:T

Sorry I haven't been on for a while, just caught up. I am trying to be extra frugal this month. I should manage to stay on track, its just me and the dog for a couple of weeks while DH is away on a course. He is only home at weekends, so I don't have to do any massive weekly shopping trips. (Which I really hate doing:mad:)

Tomorrow I have a day off, so I plan on not spending any money at all - which is always good. Its also payday!!:j Will have to transfer funds to pay the bills - leaving me with very little!!!:(

Anyway, it will just make me more determined not to spend what I have on what I don't need.;)

Congratulations Grandma 247 - hope mum & baby are both doing well. Will you be changing your name to grandma247365 now??? :)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Grandma - congratulations that's fantastic news. I think it's lovely to use family names as middle names.
Erme - glad to hear you are doing better and will be out soon.
Diddly - I know how you feel, we were in a similar position last year and I felt very conflicted when we got the negative result even though I knew that was the best thing in the long run

To every one else I wish you a frugal and happy St Valentine's

Ooh I am really excited have four watchers on my item on ebay and had an email about a buy it now price.
I got a lovely orchid from OH, well I knew that was coming as we bought it together on Saturday:rotfl: also a lovely heart shaped hot water bottle and some Lindor chocs. He got a jar of aniseed balls his favourite, some valentines chocolates and a pair of funny socks.

I think I forgot to say the other day that I went to collect a pair of glasses and I noticed there was a slight scratch on the frame on the bridge anyway they have said I can keep the glasses and they will refund my money. As I am so vain I only really ever wear them in the house to watch telly that suits me just fine!:rotfl:

On a negative note when I was ill and in hospital one of my credit cards went to a receiver as I didn't make the repayments. They asked me recently to send in a new statement of affairs and a new offer of repayment. I have decreased my offer as I was struggling and I also sent them a Doctors letter.
They have now passed it on to another agency who have demanded the full amount!

I spoke to a really nice man and explained the circumstances and have refused to budge but it is frustrating.
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.

I know I was worried on how it was going to impact on our finances and goals for our lives, and those of our children we already have been blessed with but I was still felt a wee bit disappointed when a negative result came back.

Thanks for letting us know diddly. Its a relief to know either way isn't it :)
I bought a new pen drive from the £20 voucher I got for buying a new hoover and...I lost it. It's still in the packaging and I can not find the 'safe place' I put it in. confused0078.gif

I'm the same wornoutmumoftwo. In fact when I have a declutter it's great finding things I forgot I had :D

:j Congratulations grandma, well done to mum and baby too :j
Hope you like this poem, not by me unfortunately...
Ten tiny little fingers that always want to play,
That never stop exploring the wonder of today.
Ten tiny little fingers that from the very start,
Will reach out for tomorrow yet always hold your heart.

I was back at work today after being off most of last week. Was lovely to see all the little sweeties again.
OH is at work tonight so made him a light tea and cut the toast into heart shapes :) and due to being poorly last week that's as romantic as it got from me. Well I wanted a frugal Valentine, just not quite that frugal :) Bless him though, he got me a dozen red roses and a marcasite heart ring.
Hope everyone else has had a lovely day if you celebrated it or not.
    Luv dizzy x
