Thanks for the TR, bubble! Really enjoyed it...I do think we're going to try to Cosmo buffet next trip and based on your comments, I think we'll go for lunch.
I've never seen Radley in Vegas before either - and while in general I can't bear Ross (the one time I tried I walked in and out - I don't have the necessary patience) - I could manage a swing by handbags. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

ferf, being a pudding fan yourself I think you will be disapointed with the Wicked Spoon buffet. It all looks fancy enough but there is little substance, there are fruits dipped in chocolate on sticks, and a nice selection of ice creams but little else.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

thank you for the warning - I shall certainly bear it in mind...at most buffets by the time it comes for dessert I'm too stuffed to really partake of much (hence the side trips to Cold Stone, Ben & Jerry's, Haagen Daaz & the like), so it won't be a deal-breaker...but I will manage my expectations for what I might want to top things off.

I'm sad that it seems the previous buffet staple of coconut cream pie seems to be disappearing though...the ONLY time I have it is at buffets and it seems it's not on offer most places anymore - or maybe they just hide it from me. ;)

I have a current Mirage booking valid for August and it does indeed say the rate quoted is an average rate for your stay..BUT above that it does give the total amount of stay..in my case $275 for 3 nights or about $63 plus tax plus resort fee per night.

it also gives room type and the amount of deposit paid, have a look at the top of your confirmation just below the confirmation number

Thank you- i do have that info on my email, was just worried about the small print.

Actually have to agree on the pudding front, I've usually eaten too much to fit in dessert but cosmo desserts looked gorgeous so did try them and they didnt taste as good as they looked.

The huge strawberries in choc were lovely and the gelato/ice creams had alot of flavour but the fudge selection didnt taste as expected.

Forgot to say they offer unlimited wine at $10pp at evening buffet so would be $39pp which if you're a wine drinker could be good value.

They nearly always have it at MSS buffet. I think I've seen it at Orleans too.

Orleans is the only place I have found it in our last few trips - they didn't have any out, but I asked and must have looked pitiful enough that they went and got a new one to cut a slice for me. :)

I have to disagree, I adore macarons and I thought these were excellent at Wicked Spoon. Having just spent 14 euro on 6 from Laduree in CDG (pretty much the only thing available to eat there, terminal 2e is shocking for food and this branch is far more expensive than the London ones) I thought the desert was excellent value. There are also mini madeleines that are good too.

OK, re Cosmo puddings, there is no cheesecake, no chocolate cake, in fact no cake at all. No big bowls of rice pudding, whipped cream, cobbler, bread and butter pudding, no pouring sauces, no pies of any description.
Edit: If you want a really good coconut cream pie, WALMART is your friend
