I take almost exclusively dollar bills.....even pay the hotel bill with it. Use Thomas Exchange on the Strand for good rates (order online an hour before you roll up there.....roll up rates are significantly worse).illegitimi non carborundum0

Seriously I wouldn't be comfortable carrying that much cashI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

November / DecemberI wouldn't like it either. Debit and Credit cards for me.
I'm thinking of changing to the Santander Zero account, but currently have my travel insurance through Nationwide Flexaccount until August. Decisions, decisions.0 -
Most goes into the safe when I get there. Mrs Frog will have half of it on the flight. Also carry a cheap bulging wallet full of one dollar bills wherever I go for the muggers.
At least I dont have to carry my passport around which is often needed to cash TCs.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
MayIt was more the risk whilst travelling that bothered me.
As for passport-I have to carry it anyway if I'm gambling for that form filling after a hand payout (Yeah I wish)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Marchwe've had positive experiences with Santander...but I know that a lot of people haven't...so maybe we have been lucky.
And I've yet to start writing my trip report....:o Hopefully later today, just so much to catch up on post-holiday.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Looking forward to reading it ferf0

MarchHi, here at the mo as some of you know, re Carriage House which is where we're at, LOVE IT....thanks Luci, excellent choice.
I'll do a proper trip report when we get back but certainly the space, the kitchen, the fact you can park right outside and be in your room in less than 5 mins are a huge plus for me, plus location....fantastic. Decor a bit dated but no issue with us.
Money, I brought cash this time round, both dollars and pounds, hubby loaded up his Fairfx card so we have both options...plus I have my charge card for big purchases should we need it.
Weather at mo, overcast and windy but it's all good.
I cannot emphasise enough the need for moisturiser and lip balm, my face is peeling and its not even been sunny as such and I've been slathering on the moisturiser.
