Hi, this may be a figment of my imagination but I'm sure I recall seeing a website where there are pictures/videos of each hotels rooms(?). Can anybody please post a link if such a thing exists?!
Thanks!0 -
Im about to take the plunge and book my Vegas trip. There is a2% charge for paying by credit card. I dont have to pay by credit card as i have the funds available, but i wondered if there is any advantage to doing this for the cover i would get from the credit card company? Bearing in mind 2% is approx £50.00 i'm not sure its worth it.
If the travel company were to go bust, is this something that holiday insurance would cover anyway. The travel company is ABTA bonded.
Any suggestions welcome!
Use a Visa debit card for similar protection to a CC and put the £50.00 on red.
Or use a credit card with a cashback.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

I do love Bellagio as a hotel, but the rooms are just a little disappointing. No doubt, I'll have changed things a dozen times in the next 12 weeks. A few trips ago, I changed all our bookings the day before our flights due to a great offer. Hubby thought I was crazy.....:rotfl:
Oh, thanks for the reminder about M. I've not visited there yet, so that's on my to-do list. We'll have a car for a few days anyway, so I suspect it's pretty straight forward to get to....
Getting to the M is a piece of cake, literally hit the strip and head south, it's under 10 miles from the Mandalay bay, you're also heading in the right direction to stop off for some photos at the welcome to Vegas sign.
It is quicker to go I15 but the traffic is never that bad once you clear Tropicana so I'd stay on LV boulevard, once past the airport turns then there is the town centre shopping mall on the right, Frys electronic in the next block on, a whopping great store (don't forget no duty on lappies and netbooks). and the outlet centre further down on the left. By the time you get to the M your plastic/ flexible friend will have developed rigor mortice.
South point is pretty much halfway between the MB and M.0 -
November / DecemberThanks for the info pebblesmax. Out of curiosity, do the "upgraded" rooms have a better view?
Not really. From what I can gather from the Excal website, Tower 1 has regular rooms and Tower 2 has widescreen rooms. The only advantage I could see for T2 was that it is closer to the pool.0 -
MarchOK I get it-It's the cocktail waitresses
I always thought it looked really nice but I don't "do" driving in Vegas -I've heard the M is great.
I like the Orleans for the good CWs -genuinely nice and fast. Although my criteria of "nice" is maybe different to yours :rotfl::rotfl:
My friends were horrified I refused to join them for a stay in March-they reckoned it was "In Vegas" I explained I don't regard the SunCoast as in Vegas and without a car and no desire to play golf -it wasn't for me LOL
I agree, the Orleans is in that no man's land of being on and off strip like the Rio, Palms and the Gold coast. I am undecided which is the better Chinese restaurant, Orleans or Gold Coast. Both are Boyds gaming and use the same loyalty card, they have a shuttle that runs between both properties and the strip so even if they are away from the strip access is not a problem.
South Point and the M are places where I can quite happily while away the hours other locations like on Boulder strip, GVR, Hacienda are worth going to see as a bit of a tour. You can find some gems but also some not nice places, the one and only time I was in the Palace Station my feet stuck to the floor as I walked in and that was on carpet.
I've not done the W/NW Vegas ones Red Rock, Suncoast, Arizona Charlies a couple more as well yet.
I've done them all in North Vegas inc all of Downtown, Jerry's Nugget in NLV is worth a drive out, the diner is quality and it has an on site bakery that does 'European breads' as well as some amazing cakes. Discovered it when I went to pick-up a birthday cake when there was 18 of us out there, phoned it in and went down and picked it up next day. Not an area to go walking about in AT ALL.0 -
MayMust admit I consider both Gold Coast and Orleans to be a better place to stay than some of the cheaper North Strip properties. The shuttle is great.
I like the Orleans better of the two but like the Gold Coast location for its closeness to the Palms
The Suncoast is another matter -their shuttle takes forever and going from the Strip stops at the airport enroute Bleah
Is SouthPoint still Coast or did it go when Bill's did ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

South Point used to be South Coast (we have a SC silver strike)...name changed when ownership did.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

in addition to the ones photome posted, tripadvisor can be a good resource for room photos.
In all cases though, its most helpful when the room type is shown - since there can be a huuuuge difference in different room types in different hotels.
I missed an apostrophe up there as something is wrong with my keyboard.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
