First big test of the year yesterday and I was very strong. First I went into Body Shop (where I had to buy a nail block - have been ill for a while and my nails were in such bad shape I can't start on using up my nail polishes (does this count as a toiletries purchase ?))
Then I went into Boots and browsed my usual weaknesses, and only bought 2 make-up items (for DD1 for her birthday and bought with points), then left otherwise empty handed....(builds tension)....then called into Lush (my new weakness shop) looking for half price boxes, but they had none. I was seriously tempted to buy Buffy and a sugar scrub (to help with other resolution of losing some lard)...but....<builds tension to a crescendo>....then was given a copy of the Lush times..and LEFT EMPTY HANDED .....<exits stage left to a standing ovation> :rotfl:
Does this mean I am kicking my habit ?!

2 ins but 2 UU as well:)

UU: nivea pearl beauty deodorant mini- WIBA? no. smelt nice but the 'pearls' are made of talc so left lovely white marks :( and I have another 8 to use up:eek:
    and
pantene conditioner- smooth and sleek WIBA? made my hair lovely and soft on the first wash but gradually my hair has got more and more dull. I used to wash hair twice a week but after using this I have to wash it everyday, it gets that greasy. but none in stash so back to herbal essences:j

    INS:
almond oil-200ml £1.29- heard about oil cleanse and trying to cut out unnecessary chemically washes so giving this a go. So far, skin is feeling softer, but then again might just be all this pampering!:D much cheaper to buy in indian food shops as they use this stuff all the time for hair, skin etc. also saw castor oil and coconut if anyone is looking for some:)

    and
Lush colour supplement- not sure I really like it, bit orange (I got dark yellow) and not a great concealer but an okay tinted moisturiser. But got it as a freebie:T still have about 10 vouchers left for it and given some to family and friends.

also hate neutrogena 24 hour body lotion so put some sugar in and made a very scrubby foot scrub:j

Rosemary - am with you on the psoriasis and arth problems - now, let me see if I can sort a hol on that basis :-) Hope you manage to get some time away soon.x
  • A couple of UU's Herbal Essences split end shampoo - WIBA it was ok but nothing special. Got to uu some John Frieda next.

Burts Bees lemon oil, this was for moisturising but I used it up as a shaving oil in the shower and it did a good job! Got two cans of shaving foam to uu now as hubby gave them to me as he only shaves with an electric razor.

Day 8 of no smoking today, still not bought any toiletries but have just been and got a new car! LOL

:rotfl: well - its like chocolate....

Hi all the newbies - gosh, you can tell its new year - look at us all being good !!!

I broke into my Ted Baker set last night - me,mum and my bezzie mate went to see Aladdin in Southampton (was amazing by the way - Paul O'Grady was fabulous!!), and as thats the most exciting thing thats happened to me for weeks,I thought it deserved the use my new stuff (only once though - its all gone back away for the moment again now!!) and I love it !! I only used the bubble bath, the shower gel and the body souffle - but i loved the smell and the souffle stuff made me feel lovely and moisturised without feeling clammy (which is my main dislike of butters!!)
SO - much as I like S&G I do think that I may have found my HG stuff for a while anyway (till the next new thing comes out!! :o)

Oh - and a couple of outs - In the post on Monday (you know who you are - and Im sorry I haevnt got them off to you yet!!) are the end of my clean mary (and a couple of other little bits cos theres not as much CM as i thought left,so I feel bad !!) :T

  • my update:
just done my toiletries inventory :j. Scary :eek:but not quite as scary as I thought it'd be (not saying much - I did have fears about doing this task!)

    2 questions:
Any one got any ideas of what to do with old soap that has lost its scent?
I've got so much soap that needs using up I am loathe to use up the old stuff at the expense of enjoying the smells of the newer!

the other is anyone know what a 'Once a Year' lush product is?
It was a freebie in their recent sale but I don't know what to do with it - or what category to put it in in my inventory :)

I'll post my list once I've typed it into word...:D

    Thanks
  • I can't face typing it all out for now. And may not bother. I have counted how many items I have listed in my notebook though...

Hand washes and hand creams: 40 items :rotfl:
    Soaps: 31 :o
    Medical items: 15
    Bath foams: 10
    Shower gels: 28
    Body lotions/butters: 30
    Face moisturisers: 12
    Face cleansers & scrubs: 23
    Body cleansers & scrubs: 22
    Perfumes: 7
    Face masks: 10
    Lips scrubs/salves: 8
    Foot scrubs, lotions, soaks: 14
    Hair: 16
    Other: 15

Question: Will I ever get through it!? :rotfl:

I have a Lush once a year massage bar. I use massage bars like a solid body butter. Rub to warm it up and then smooth it onto the skin. Or you could ask someone to give you a massage with it? :p
