I can't face typing it all out for now. And may not bother. I have counted how many items I have listed in my notebook though...

Hand washes and hand creams: 40 items :rotfl:
    Soaps: 31 :o
    Medical items: 15
    Bath foams: 10
    Shower gels: 28
    Body lotions/butters: 30
    Face moisturisers: 12
    Face cleansers & scrubs: 23
    Body cleansers & scrubs: 22
    Perfumes: 7
    Face masks: 10
    Lips scrubs/salves: 8
    Foot scrubs, lotions, soaks: 14
    Hair: 16
    Other: 15

Question: Will I ever get through it!? :rotfl:

You will, you will, you will, you will, you will! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's going Ok for me -I've resisted 3 Beauty TSVs on QVC, and all the January Try Me Offers, the half price sets in Boots and all the special offers on counters.

And it's only Day 8!

I think this is the current advice from the cosmetic companies, yes. Personally I choose to take it with a pinch of salt - they are also recommending that powder shadows etc are only kept for 2 years max before being thrown. ;) I rather think it is like many other "advisory" things - better to use ones own common sense and follow best practise on use - so don't pump the wand up and down in the mascara tube, make sure you don't put stray eyelashes back in the tube on the wand, and for goodness sake if you have an eye infection sling the thing out without hesitation. With lipsticks etc, you can smell if they have started to go off, and creams etc either smell dodgy or change consistency. But then, I don;t assume that my milk has turned sour on the day that the bottle tells me it will have done, either! :rotfl:

First big test of the year yesterday and I was very strong. First I went into Body Shop (where I had to buy a nail block - have been ill for a while and my nails were in such bad shape I can't start on using up my nail polishes (does this count as a toiletries purchase ?))
Then I went into Boots and browsed my usual weaknesses, and only bought 2 make-up items (for DD1 for her birthday and bought with points), then left otherwise empty handed....(builds tension)....then called into Lush (my new weakness shop) looking for half price boxes, but they had none. I was seriously tempted to buy Buffy and a sugar scrub (to help with other resolution of losing some lard)...but....<builds tension to a crescendo>....then was given a copy of the Lush times..and LEFT EMPTY HANDED .....<exits stage left to a standing ovation> :rotfl:
Does this mean I am kicking my habit ?!

what's a nail block and does it work(well it must if you have had it before:rotfl:)mine are awful, they look like I have bee biting them as soooo short but had to file down as broke 2 on the poolside wall and the others all seemed to flake low down and kept catching on clothes :(:(

re my amazon sale, could not find the book:eek:so searched for ages then dS3 replied to my email saying he had it:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:my fault tho as forgot I was supposed to be selling it for DS1 and thought he'd like it as he does history at uni:rotfl:anyway he will post on to buyer but hope it is in good repair as sold it as new(which it was !)

in my searching found another book under DS2s bed (annoyed as he did not ask for it and has bent the cover:mad::mad::mad:)spent 2 hours putting Christmas decos away and now have even less room in cupboards even tho I threw lots of tatty stuff out:(.

out to a danc etonight so will have a bath with one of my Christmad bath bombs:):):)

I throw mine after 3-4months, but I do get problems with my eye's so I'd rather be safe than sorry. However it's the only product I do stick to the guideline for.

3 UU's today (is it me or does stuff tend to run out the same time?! :rotfl:):

    - CK Eternity Moment body lotion - lovely, but I no longer use this perfume so glad it;s gone.
    - Aussie shampoo - only a travel size one, my fav shampoo but too expensive at the moment :(
    - Dove watermelon shower gel - lovely smell, but I have a billion travel ones to get through, plus 2 full size gels so won't buy for ages!!
