hi everyone, can I join you please? I stumbled across this thread by accident and thought it was a great idea so went off and sorted through my stash to see what I had. OMG, I dont know if I should be pleased or embarrassed lol, Ive got over 300 items not including makeup (and thats after giving my 3 daughters in law huge bags of stuff at Christmas):o

most of it is from glitches Boots, Bodyshop, Debenhams and some from when Tescos had the health and beauty coupons a couple of years ago. Thats my weakness really, cant resist a glitch. anyway, I think apart from hair colour and cotton wool Ive got enough stuff to last all year, so am going to try very hard to resist buying more.

will do a list once Ive got over the shock lol. Ive put all half open stuff and samples/minis in a basket in the bathroom and am going to try and use these first before I open any more.

have had a few use ups this week,
herbal essence shampoo + conditioner WIBA yes, but only when Ive used up all the others.
Clarins toner sample, wouldnt buy as prefer Liz Earle skin tonic
Bodyshop brazil nut bodybutter, WIBA, yes its my favourite, but have to use all the others first

sorry my first post on the thread has been so long but I can see you are a friendly lot and its so good to find people who understand about stashes of toiletries :)

Hi all, am just catching up :D

Welcome everyone new! Don't take ANY advice, or leads from me as I have to confess to some INs as seen on Grabbit (bad, bad place!)

I got 1 x 100ml bottle of Urban Retreat Reverie perfume
1 x 100ml bottle of Urban Retreat (I will call it UR from now on...sign of the extent of my sinning!) Rendevous perfume
1 x UR face base and blusher for medium skin tones
1 x UR face base and blusher for light skin tones (not sure what would be the best match, only had light, medium and dark so I'm sure it will suit me or my sisters can benefit (all have different skin tones)!)
    1 x double UR mascara

all for the grand total of £20.40 and that includes £4.50 P&P  . I'm relatively happy at that price as it should all be a lot higher.

I must say it was due to not receiving any perfume at Christmas (a first for me!) and I had itchy feet/palms/credit card - delete as appropriate!!

Hopefully I like the perfumes if not at £4.50 each for 100ml I really can't complain and will try and ebay them!

In regards to the foundation - I am nearing the end of both pots of my current open stash foundations and am finding one of the shades to be a bit orange! Don't you hate it when you buy the same shade you always have from the same brand and it is just not right! (No7 - one of the only times I have ever been let down by them :( )

And to carry on the excuse making - I used a mascara from the stash today and have had a sore and itchy eye ever since so that will be getting chucked tonight when I get home - so a UU there :A lol

I will be finishing a shampoo and conditioner set I got to trial tonight - I think it was a Pantene one but not too sure so WIBA it was ok, nice and fresh smelling but I can't wait to get back to my TIGI - unless it has been used up by everyone else! (Likely!)

Tara you are one lucky devil! I hope there are some more glitches on the way - the best ones do seem to come at the start of the year don't they :rotfl:

Have a good day ladies xx

You are a bad girl but I am just as bad lol!!! :rotfl:

Good idea Jacks plus you support a local independent one rather than Boots which seem to be taking over everywhere. And every time I've used them for prescriptions, even simple ones, they b*ggar things up. Our local independent one is now like a mate

    True :)
Ladies, it would appear that all this pampering has paid off - as unless I am very much mistaken......

    ...we've got ourselves a MAN!!! :D

Slap me hard and put me on the naughty step :o

I've just popped over to Perfume Parlour and *accidently* bought 3 new oils for £7. Its not like I haven't got enough fragrances already. These 3 will make a total of, I think, 26. Some genuine, some PP types.
It was a friends fault tho really, I was looking at her perfume collection and she has YSL Nu, in a really funky bottle, I have a squirt of it, declare I want some. You can't, says friend, its discontinued. So I trawl the 'net and find that she is, in fact, right. There's only 1 bottle available anywhere and that's on Ebay, at £25ish with 2 bids and 8 days to go:( I know, I think to myself, I'll see if lovely Amir has it. And he does:j:j:j, he also has Lady Million and Ed Hardy. And soon so will I:o:T:D

    I apologise.

    And hello Andy

I do hate it when that happens... there you are, minding your own business, when your Switch card sneaks out of your purse and buys stuff IN YOUR NAME!!!!:mad: :rotfl:

p.s. bin those Boots mailings ladies, I will too! :T

2 ins and 1 UU for me today.

snipped... I can't get me hands on the S&G one at the mo) was using it as an every day conditioner. As I get my hair cut regularly I don't think I need any treatments. Anybody else been trying to get the S&G conditioner?

Oh no ALERT! :rotfl: My plan is/was to buy a large Pantene shampoo to use up the 2 crappy conditioners I have and then hopefully a 3 for 2 S&G will come along in the mean time so I can buy 2 S&G conditioners (to go with my 2 tote S&G shampoos:o) and a treat! If this can't happen I will be very sad, I don't really have a shampoo stash so was proud of using 2 oldies up for the S&G joys... I like my shampoo and conditioner to match!

Does that make any sense?!! :o I will not give in yet hey ho... the plan will happen!

No UU or Ins - all good here xxx

OH has just collected my Harrods parcels, he doesn't know what's in the boxes but says they're really heavy!!!! PMSL! Bless him. I mustn't, mustn't, mustn't let him see what's in them or he will have me carted off to the loony bin. :rotfl:I'll be gibbering at him 'but they were freeee!' :rotfl:

    YIPPEE!!!

Woohooooooo they're all there!!!! I had to count them all (I ordered a lot of sets cough cough). I can't believe I got them lol. Will post a pic if I can work out how to do it.

Thanks so much Mr Harrods!!!

Managed not to let OH see in the boxes and stashed them all away, will put them on top of my wardrobe. To answer SJP's question - each set has ten 50ml shower gels, all different. They look FAB. Am thinking of pairing one set with some Christy towels as a wedding gift, what do you think?

@Tara did your OH not ask what was in the boxes he had to collect? Bit hard to hide them from the person who collected them from the sorting office:rotfl:Would he even believe they were free?

I was really jealous of a friends cosmetics bag earlier but not for the usual reasons.

The bag contained very standard but nice things. There was No7 day and night cream, TreSemme shampoo, palmolive deodorant, dove shower gel and body lotion, toothpaste, maybe a few more things but this is basically all the cosmetics she owns. She doesn't wear make up. It was totally clutter free and obviously such a simple routine.

I mean she had a bottle of shampoo, I have at least 20 bottles of shampoo. On top of this I have an equivalent amount of conditioner, heat protection sprays, serums, hairsprays...etc and I could NEVER make my hair look good with just one bottle of shampoo.

She had day cream and night cream. No serum, eye cream exfoliator, face mask.....

No make up = no pencils, brushes = no clutter at all.

She made me laugh too when she thought Topshop was a shop that sells tops:rotfl:But it reminded me just how far removed from consumerism some people are (but probably not anybody posting here;))

He probably would believe they were free TBH, he knows I love a good glitch! :rotfl:

I love your friend, how sweet :)
