Now ladies, should I be good and stick to my challenge, or are these products just too good to miss?
How about if you set a date in your mind by which, if you've carried on ploughing through the stash until then without being tempted you can buy yourself one or perhaps two (depending on how many items you've UU'd by then of course) items you have been lusting after. I know what you mean about the thread leading you towards temptation - this time last year I'd hardly heard of Soap & Glory...fast forward a few months and there I was on Dec 17th hitting Boots at 8.45am to get a Tote Bag!mcculloch29 wrote: »I feel exactly the same way Bat and Sofababe. I'm going to do what you suggested Sofababe . I'll use up all my basics and have fun later in the year - or even next Christmas -picking people's brains as to really good products to use - showergels excepted, as OS gels are already my HG. (Hey, I'm getting the knack of the specialist shorthand here.)

Exactly And - you're certainly not going to be short of input and suggestions for products to try, either!littlepinkstars44 wrote: »littlepink's plan for the rest of january!!
Going to try and use up most of all of the half/nearly empty items in my stash, so i can get onto using some of the newer items i am dying to try!
Treseme shampoo (almost at the end)
Treseme conditioner (almost at the end)
L'oreal re nourish face wipes
My Face wipes (i really do not like these though)
Lush Oatifix face mask (brand new)
The Body Shop Carrot Moisturiser (starting to splutter)
Soap and Glory iFoam shower gel (about half full)
The Body Shop Fuzzy Peach shower gel (about half full)
Soap and Glory the daily smooth body butter (about 1/3 left in it)
Soap and Glory Hand Food (think about 2/3 full)
Also need to try and use some of the older items in my Lush stash such as:
Amandopondo bubble bar (09)
Magic Mushroom bubble bar (09)
Avobath ballistic (10)
Waving not drowning ballistic (10)
Fizzbanger ballistic (10)
Lush Each Peach massage bar
Lush Flying Fox shower gel 100g (need to check the date on this one actually!)
Also have a bad habit of getting near the end of a bottle of perfume, and switching to a full one! So i am going to try and get rid of most of the empty ones:
Lacoste touch of pink
The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom
Soap and Glory
If i can make a dent in this lot by the end of the month i will be a happy girl! So if anyone has any tips on getting through this lot quicker, please let me know!
Prioritise the stuff that's emptiest first as recording more UU's at the beginning will help with motivation.
After that use everything so far as possibly in order of age - oldest first, particularly with Lush stuff which goes off relatively quickly.
Wear perfume EVERY day - so what if you're not going out or seeing anyone, hey girl, you're worth it! :rotfl:
Make a habit of using your hand cream in the morning before you go out, at night before you go to bed, and as many times during the day as you can remember.
Designate one night a week as "Pamper night" - soak in the bath with a face mask on, body scrub, hair wash & deep conditioner, then out, body butter, moisturise face, slather cream onto hands and feet and pop cotton gloves and socks on if you have them. You'll feel so relaxed afterwards as well you will probably have a wonderful soothing nights sleep too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

A chuck out to report- Collection 2000 Nail Polish Hot Looks in Spangles. Its Lime Green! I've only had it a few months and its gone really gloopy and won't go on evenly so its been removed, binned and replaced with Wet and Wild in black. I'd say it gone horrible cos it was cheap but the WnW was only 99c in USA so about 65p and its fine!!0

evening ladies... I've been slimming worlding tonight, so no UU-ing for me... but I am 8lbs lighter after my first week, which I put down to losing all excess water through the baths I've been taking!
I've got some spluttering ones though, a Queen of Shaves lovely tea-tree shaving gel, WIBA? Yes! It's lovely and I have no replacement...but I could start work on OH's small stash of 2 shaving gels and perhaps use conditioner... we will see. I have discovered more stash, several packets of venus disposable shavers, I remember them being 3 shavers for £1.50 and a pack of 8 normal blades being £7...so I stocked up!
BatOutOfHell - I'm the same... I really want to try lush stuff from reading this, even though I just know that my skin would reactIf you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
One UU - Finally!!! First ever one I think! My Avon Liv botanics facial moistruser! WIBA - Probably not as it smelt funny but was good on skin. Usually cant tolerate plant type products.
WOO HOO ofr me for finally using something up!
You won't get the choice anyway - that range are discontinued at the moment - they've all been rolling through clearance over the last month or so!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Am signing off for tonight, as I don't want to be tempted!
I laughed out loud as I read this as I had just arrived here fresh from checking the Boots Sale 75% off discussion threat!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Also laughed lots at BatoutOfhells comments about this thread having the wrong effect - soooooooooooooo true!! I'd forgotten howly lovely lush bubble bars are........won't buy, won't buy.....:(Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -

Discussion threat ... a brilliant Freudian slip there .... I'm going to steer clear - even at 75% off it'll still be cheaper in Home Bargains and I resisted EVERYTHING there ....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Ok here's the truth
Make up spend last year was £243.51 and thats only normal stuff from Boots not expensive brands so I will not buy any more until I have used my stash. Oh and that total doesnt include the £48.19 of stuff I got with points on No17 so I could get the eye shadow palettes for my daughters girly friends Christmas party.
Toiletries spend was £430.43 of which £245.36 was on Lush which is an improvement on previous years - 2008 Lush first year was £344.87 and 2009 was £175.78 (although I think I had a few hidden receipts that yearas I worked out how to save pennies that didnt have to be accounted for to DH
)
For those considering Lush, if you have sensitive skin they do some amazing products but if you just like toiletries avoid it, its addictive!Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Some lovely pics and stash lists on here, well done ladies for resisiting buying more.
No UU today, but got a spluttering conditioner, so that should be gone soon.
Nite all x:hello:No more toiletries challenge :T

Quick question for anyone who can advise - I've been using a largely ineffective tube of Boots Skin Clear Quick-Clearing Spot Gel and want to get something more useful. I've tried Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel spot wand and Clearasil 4 Hour spot gel with no success in the past so if anyone with very spot-prone skin has found anything that actually does work, I'll be eternally grateful for the tip!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -

I've used the Clinique one in the past, seemed to do the trick, but it is rather pricey.
The other day i noticed a spot starting, my little brother uses the clean and clear spot gel. It was sitting in the bathroom so i gave it a shot, and i found it worked just as well as my clinique one. Not sure how much it is, as my mum bought him it, but guessing around the £3 mark in most supermarkets.
But, i don't have particularly spot prone skin, just get the odd one every now and again, so i don't know how much help that will be to you. One thing to look out for is products with salicylic acid in it, thats very well known for clearing up your skin0
