They can plead hardship on your behalf.

Good this is far too stressful to deal with. I can't believe how complicated it all is. I am not going to be able to cope with all this when i lose my sight. Blooming heck how will i read the tax demands? well if i can't see them i can't pay them.

This is the relevant part from Martin's guide:

If you owe under £2,000 you can pay this in monthly installments via PAYE during the 2011/12 year, which begins next April.

What if I can't afford to pay my tax back?

HMRC says it may be able to spread payments over a longer period but it stresses it is not making any promises and will treat each case based on individual circumstances.

Accountants also say where paying the tax would cause hardship and the taxpayer has a very low income and no assets, HMRC should temporarily write it off.

But it could ask for it back if the taxpayer's fortunes improve.

Thanks Vix people have been very nice. I will stay but i dont want to cause anyone stress ya know? Can you check if your OH is ok? He is very quiet and am a bit worried.

Mr 3Dogs says we will move in with you to look after you and you can have a choice of our 3 as your guide dog I've always wanted to live daan sarf :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Beanie Vix was on WL31 thread a minute ago. You are welcome down sarf anytime! I am getting tired and might have to wake up early as i haven't done any studying. Just waiting for the stew to finish cooking. Then i shall gobble a bit and then bed. Smells delish.
