  • Well there is not anything in Hampshire, but my local MOT centre is a scrapyard oerated one, they do not carry out repairs and dont try to mess you round as they absolutely have nothing to earn from it.

The one I got to was the Aldershot Spare Centre, for those living arounf the Rushmoor borough.

For everybody else I would recommend looking for the same types.

See my previous post ( on page 1 ) about Allesley Garage, Allesley, Coventry.

Get yourself down there at 9am tomorrow morning and you'll only pay if it passes.
  • Lived in Majorca for 14 years. Only place to get an MOT is a government run garage. You sit in the car and it goes along a conveyer belt. First guy checks engine, next guy lights etc. And so it goes on. If you pass you get a sticker to put on you car. No sticker the police will stop you. If it fails you get so long to get it fixed.
    Great system.

In Hertfordshire the place I use is called Royton Express, not far from Junction 6 on the A1, (Welwyn) (not a council place)

    https://www.royton-express.com

They do not do repairs, just drive through MOT tests, they charge only £26 as well.

Every car I've taken there has either passed or failed with good reason.

No booking required, just turn up.
