Me too! It's totally addictive & I've been trying to quit. I did a rough calc and figured I spend around £500/year on it so need to get it stopped. Any suggestions welcome!

Me too, its my absolute addiction, plus 3 others at work drink it so we keep each other going. I only like the cans not bottles, sounds insane but I can taste the difference (honest). Will cut back to 1 tin a day rather than the usual 6 as at the moment

I would really like to join this challenge to keep me on track. Have had 2 NSD so far this month and would like to aim for 10 being new and all. Sleep well everyone, its work tomorrow booooooooo

I don't drink a lot of coke/diet coke, but I can tuck away an alarming number of cups of tea a day - it's not unusual that I get into double figures  The worring thing is that I have noticed sometimes I get splitting headaches and think that this could actually be from lack of caffeine - do any of you guys suffer in the same way?

Not really- I have always been a headachey person, but due to tiredness and stress more than anything else. I do get serious cravings for a ciet coke mid-morning, as many people do with coffee/ tea. The other times I could probably cut back, but don't know what to replace it with. I like water with meals, but find it a bit boring at other times.
I usually have 3 cans of diet coke a day, sometimes 4

Not sure I can cut back to 1- but 2 is a possibility!! There are specific times I have a can- mid morning, when I'm cooking the tea, and later in the evening. I need to break the habit of one of them first- I guess the evening one is the obvious one to cut out first. Will let you know how I get on!!
The only times I ever went off diet coke were when I was pregnant- and that's a bit of a drastic way to cut back! :rotfl:

Just another 1 NSD to declare for me (today) taking me to 4 please Spoon.

I had tried to plan saturday to be free of spends but then went shopping with my mom, pleased with my purchases on one level but not strictly sure I needed another pair of boots :o - to add to the 25+ pairs I already own (not to mention all the shoes, sandals, trainers etc). Maybe I should count and list them all and keep it in my wallet to look at next time I see some nice footwear. Actually I've just remembered I bought 2 pairs :o one was a new paid of walking boots though and they were reduced to £15 so I could probably justify those a bit easier.

I've had three such headaches Wed - Fri afternoons this week - same time each day which has got me wondering whether I should try to cut down? (also wondering if it is eye strain from the computer but I don't feel any pain/headache around my eyes at all)

It's possibly the opposite, kerri, too much caffeine - there's a lot of caffeine in tea and, if you drink builder's brew, there's more caffeine in that than in coffee...

Re diet coke, I used to drink loads of the stuff... but cut down by watering it down slightly with sparking water. It tastes a bit odd to start with but I quickly got used to it and diluted it more and more. I used to add some lemon to it to disguise the slightly odd taste. I had a real caffeine addiction from it, now I can take it or leave it.

    Hope that helps

Hi all, This is my first post on here, I am new to this forum. I would like to sign up to this challenge. I am aiming for 10 NSD's this month. Today is my first NSD. Woo hoo, I haven't spent a single penny today. I am excluding rent, council tax, bills and rainy day savings.
Hi and welcome thriftyfairy, good to have you on board. I'll add you, and your first NSD:j:j:j to the front page now. Good luck for the rest of the month:D
Thanks for the warm welcome! I just have a quick question:
Do we report back each day that we have a NSD, or add it all up at the end of the month?
Sorry if thats a silly question.
    Thanks,
There are no silly questions here, thriftyfairy, as you will learn when you've been here a while:D. I think BM may have answered your question below but basically post as often as you need/want to.

Eh-O costumed-smiley-092.gif...have you been fitted for your strait-jacket yet, or have you been lucky enough to avoid Mistress Spoon? Not saying we are all kuku.gifbut some are more obviously so than others laughing-smiley-001.gif
Now, BM, that's not very nice... you're giving the newbies the impression I'm as mad as a box of frogs:D, are you trying to frighten them off?:rotfl:

To answer your question, most of us find it helps to report in daily; I do usually but I've been spending time with me muvva whose been a bit fragile with one bug or another :o It helps to concentrate the mind if you are able to pop in every day, particularly at the beginning. Any way you choose to do it tho is fine & Good Luck. Give us a shout whenever you're passing..

On my honour, I was only thinking of you t'other day LfV & wondering where you & Pure Dead Dopey had got to confused-smiley-009.gif Now it seems Cheryl's gone awol too:( but it's lovely to have you back love-smiley-018.gif

PDD isn't posting on here at the moment, she's moved to another forum. Hopefully she'll be back though, fingers crossed. Not sure where Cheryl is, I think she was working a lot though..

I've another two to add on my total bringing it up to 6, but today I had to replenish the bread bin at home. Un/fortunately we were in the supermarket at the right/wrong time & I snaffled a fair few whoopsies in the bread aisle especially. Plus, because I was home so late this afternoon, I succumbed to frozen roasties & yorkies sad-smiley-012.gif Ah well..Mum is feeling brighter & really, that's all that matters...

Good news about your mum, glad she's on the mend:T
