Hello all....well it's nearly time for me to head back to dear old Blighty - I can already hang my head in shame though and declare a spendy day :( I went back over to the mall to get my friend a hoodie and pick up a free make up sample that I forgot to get yeaterday, and while I was there I bought a couple of t-shirts :o Feeling a bit guilty as i don't really NEED them - however, the total spend was under $25 so it's not the end of the world. Will be a spendy day tomorrow as I need to get a few bits for OH birthday while he's at work (hoping I don't crash out after the red eye flight) but after that I'm determined to tighten the belt. I feel that I've gone a bit wayward recently, prob since Xmas, telling myself 'I'll buy x,y,z beacuse I've been good with my NSD challenge' and that's not really what it's about. :(

Declaring today as NSD #8 - was expecting to have to pay parking at the race (due to using a Park & Ride car park as instructed - with mention of a £1 fee - but couldn't find anywhere to pay!)

Official race results have been posted - I came in at position 365 of 422 runners despite being last over the start line (by some considerable seconds), and with an official time of 58:59 (which is from them shouting 'go' rather than my crossing the start line). Using their timing gives me an average pace of 9mins 30 a mile - which is waaaaay better than I've ever managed on any run to date :T
(I clocked 1hr 7mins exactly on my last 10km race, which was mid-November - and I've not done a great deal of running since then!)

Is super happy with todays result / timing :D

And it would have made for a truly excellent (birth)day if only my chaps Dad hadn't been whisked into hospital :(

He got a call from his sister shortly after the race started (his Dad has cancer, but hasn't had any chemo in a month and wasn't due back until mid-Feb), so we made a briefer than planned visit to DD and GDs (didn't want to let GDs down, and DD had made me a coffee cake which she and GDs won't eat so it needed picking up) - then it was straight back here so he could collect his vehicle and head over to be with his family. He was all apologetic about it, but we told him that his family has to come first at a time like that - and I certainly won't be taking the hump just because we had less time together than planned (by a couple of hours at most).... especially as we've "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" so to speak.

NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!
  • 10 out of 10 for me now.

Last two days NSDs, I do not count my weekly shop (which I did on Friday anyway) mine NSDs are just for incidental spends.

I am really pleased with this as was losing all hope earlier in the week.

I would like to up my limit if that is possible, to perhaps another 2 so making it 12 for Jan.

Many thanks and well done to everyone. :heartpuls this challenge
