Something else to help my spending reduction. :-D

I'm going to start from yesterday when I joined. I spent yesterday but not today. 1/2!

Anyone got any other simple little things to reduce spending? I'm doing the Weekly Spend Challenge thing too.

Leave your purse/wallet at home :D

I do this on the school run and when walking the dog otherwise it is too easy to give in to the children or yourself :p;):o

Save money by asking yourself if you really NEED it or only WANT it-also don't buy there and then -go away and have a think about it-preferably overnight! :-D

    Evening all

A spendy day for me I'm afriad - woke up with a terrible sore throat so had to buy throat lozenges on the way to work. :(

All I've done today is suck lozenges and gargle with salty water  Yeeuch! (Oh, and eat chocolate because apparently it's illegal not to when you have a sore throat :T)

Aw well, tomorrow is another day.

Have a nice night gang :hello:

Have you tried gargling with soluble aspirin? If I'm ill it seems to hit my throat first and this is the one thing that seems to really help (you can just swallow it after assuming you are ok with aspirin?)

I try writing a little list over a couple of days of bits I think I need....then working out what I could actually do without. Plus just seeing it all written down can be an incentive to reduce the spending.

Keiss - hope DS is on the mend soon, that's rotten luck about the rugby, he must be good to have been in the line up to take part in the selection. Hope he gets another shot once he's better.

Jinty - look after yourself - don't want you making yourself ill

Small(ish) spend for me today. Mr W had some more stock of the moistureiser I use (have to use else I shrivel up like a flaky pastry ) reduced, it's not £5+ in some stores and was £2.27 on offer - got two so that's me got three in stock. also got some make up remover (but of a necessity).

Had to stop in Robby Dyas too to get washers for the washing machine - all plumbed back in now and have run a rince cycle - touch wood the leak seems to be fixed so either the old washer was done (though doesn't feel like it is shot) or the pipe wasn't on very well and got knocked (a disticnt possibility) Can't try a full wash atm as I have no drying space left.

Should clock up a few more NSD this week due to being off again with work (Stateside this time) ...and all the glamour of a 9hr flight in economy :p

D'you know, I never thought of that - I'm fine with aspirin and I have soluble ones in the meds cabinet. Think I'll give it a bash - thanks for the suggestion :T

  • jintyb - you have my sympathy with the insomnia. I find sleep very difficult as well but mine's down to the menopause. I usually have about 5 days of carp sleep followed by 2 brilliant nights and then back to the 5 days again - wish it was the other way round. I have a pretty stressful job and it just feels worse if I've not had much sleep - a vicious circle:mad:

Well #10 NSD today so 2 thirds of the way there. It is true that when you've got no money this challenge becomes just a bit easier.

The biggest thanks must go to Spoon though for keeping us all on track.

Good evening, gang, spendy day for me but I was expecting the Ringtons tea man anyway so I made sure the bits of shopping I had to do were also done today. The next NSD on the horizon I think is going to be Thursday, fingers, toes and all extraneous bits crossed! Hope everyone is busy polishing their sporrans for next week's Burns Night shindig!
