Out with the old, in with the new: the January NSD challenge

Just checked bank account.
D/debit did indeed go out yesterday as expected - so doesn't matter that I hit the Whoopsies (and a special offer) as I left work, 'cos it wouldn't have been an NSD anyway
However, nothing out of the bank or my purse today - making it NSD #6 (I think)
Very, very doubtful that tomorrow will be an NSD. Work have announced another extra-discount day (15% instead of 10%) as a thankyou for coping during the snow, so I'm going to pick up a few bits I need (milk - 'cos I took Saturday's purchased one over to someone else on Sunday, and left it there together with the bread.... but picked up some Whoopsied long-life bread for me yesterday so that's already been replaced - and bananas spring to mind) and check out the current special offers and tomorrows Whoopsies......
Will also get my road tax paid for on-line while I'm already spending. And either juice up the car or put money aside for doing so. I have a 10km race on Sunday and have enough of the liquid gold to get there and back (including a visit to DD/GDs and probably parents/DS after the race as it's up in their neck of the woods) - but after that I reckon I'd be lucky to get to 'his' and back again on what would be left.
Off to bed now, as I [strike]want[/strike] need to get up bright and early - and ready to run - in the morning. It's the last day I should really risk a 'decent' run before the race, and I still need to get a 10km (6.2 mile) run in as I've not done a decent run since my last race (5 miles) in November
Mapped the course of the race onto my normal route planning site tonight, and nearly died when I saw the incline someone had warned me was in it..... But I then compared it to an incline I've done several times with the running club, and it should actually be a doodle (the running club one goes up twice as much in the same distance)So I'm planning to run out to that and have a refresher run up it tomorrow -- but by the time I run there, up the hill, round a loop, and then back home the route is almost 7 miles  Can see me struggling to stay awake at work in the afternoon
Roll on 5pm Thursday, as I'm then off work until 1pm Wednesday :TCheryl0 -
Keiss - sorry to hear about your DS, do hope he will have another chance in the future.
(((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))) Jinty, so sorry to hear the bad news about MIL, hope you & hubby are doing ok, please take care of yourself x
Made your recipe tonight, thanks soooo much for sharing, it really was delicious!!
Well that was my night, enjoying jinty's beautiful chicken & then turning all the extra i cooked into a pasta bake for freezing in portions & tortilla wraps for the rest of the weeks lunches, so not a penny spent or a ciggie smoked :j
That'll be Number 10 please mistresses Spoony & SF!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
And I'v reached target #15 in the bag.£71.93/ £180.000

A very spendy day for me
Two of the dogs were due for their annual boosters so that was a small fortune! And paid a little into the lottery syndicate at work (I live in hope of a fortune coming in for a change :rotfl:)
On the  side today, I fell over again!!! That's twice in three days, but I am not a mad coordinationless idiot (well, ok, maybe I am) but I have excuses for both! On Sunday I fell over rollerskating as I forgot that rollerskates don't like carpetAnd today I discovered that walking on a pavement covered in wet moss is definitely not a good idea when being pulled along by strong dogs
:o And to make it worse, not only did I hit the same elbow each time, but I also had an audience on both occasions
:o:o:o:o:o
On theside, I changed the course I'm about to study (same subject, different provider) so that will be quite a bit cheaper. It's distance learning now rather than classroom, but hoping it'll still be ok. Not rich enough to pick and choose, really. But getting the qualification is the main thing
Official DFW nerd 187 :T Highest debt Oct 06 £23,319 _pale_ Cleared end 09. :T
Student again now and trying to fight the debts that are creeping up again :eek:0 -
woohoo number ten of ten!! Go me, going to up my target to 15 - hope to get a few more NSD in before the weekend as heading to Dublin with OH on Sat for a nice night away! Excited!!Total 19-02-2017 £39,711.37 - Total: 02-04-2017 £38,733.47 (Paid back - 2.46%)
Loan 1 - 19-02-2017 - £22,867.33 - 02-04-207 - £22,328.54 (Paid back - 2.3%) Loan 2 - 19-02-2017 £11,656.37 - 02-04-207 - £11402.56 (Paid back - 2.2%) Credit Union - 19-02-2017 - £5,187.67 - 02-04-207 - £5002.37 (Paid back - 3.6%)0 -
Aw, thanks to you both!
I'm didnt feel I was stressed about much ATM, but maybe subconsciously I am! As you know, I've taken on a secondment at work and last week and this, it's felt like I've started a new job IFSWIM! The problem is, I feel that the team I'm helping expects me to solve their backlog overnight, or that could just be me giving myself too high a benchmark!;)
We also had some bad news re my MIL last week. She has been diagnosed with cancer in the spleen, lung and liver. We are just waiting to hear how the docs are going to proceed and how progressive it is. I'm also concerned about OH, as we lost his Dad just in November.
Re my sleeping, the problem is I think my body clock in totally out of synch. I crash earlier and earlier, with the result I waken earlier. I think I need to reset myself a bit!
Spoon - my skin is still crp. I look like I have burns its so bad! Back at hospital next Wed!
Sorry for the off topic chat, but thanks for being so concerned:A
(((((((hugs)))))))) jinty
I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL. Not surprised you're not sleeping and your skin is crp with everything you've got going on:(
I think you're probably setting yourself a very high benchmark with the Monday job and that's probably adding to your stress levels. You can't solve all of their problems single-handedly and undoubtedly they don't expect you to - the pressure is coming from you (sorry, that wasn't meant to be a lecture:o).
Hope the hospital manage to help with your skin, that's not going to help you either atm....
Take care, look after yourself and OH. We're here if you need a rant or just to let off some steam.

So splitting in into two:D
Hi lovely NSD gang
Another quick-ish:D roundup of yesterday’s and today’s NSDs. Some brilliant numbers on the front page now... go us!!!!:j
:hello:Welcome to our newbies joining up this week. As I think I’ve already said, please make yourselves at home and feel free to join in with the chat and general nonsense on here. If you’re not sure about anything please ask, we’re very friendly and there’s usually someone around to help.
Newbies joining up yesterday and today are:
:hello:*KT* - hi and welcome to the challenge, good to have you on board. If you’d like to join us “unofficially” for January you’d be very welcome. Otherwise we‘ll look forward to seeing you in February. Good idea to start low for your first month, you can always increase your target later in the month (and that way you get two prizes..)
:hello:2joanne - hi and welcome to the challenge, it’s never to late to join our gang. Well done for the 4 you’ve already grabbed, I’ll add them to the front page. Not sure whether you wanted to set yourself a target for this month? If so, just let me know. Good luck and feel free to join in with the chat and general nonsense on here, we’re very friendly.
:hello:jessie18 - hi and welcome to the challenge, it’s never to late to join our gang. Let me know if you want to set yourself a target and I’ll add that to the front page as well. Good luck and feel free to join in with the chat and general nonsense on here, we’re very friendly.
:hello:d17 - hi and welcome to the challenge. Well done for your first NSD yesterday, that’s brilliant. Have a look at BigMumma’s post, that should give you lots of ideas to start with. If you need to know anything just ask, we’re very friendly and there’s usually someone around to help. Good luck.
