I am sorry to report that today we lost our brave Dobey. DH couldn't let her suffer any longer as she was unable to stand this morning. Unfortunately as I was at work he had to go through it himself. She was very poorly as vet (a lovely girl who, the first time she saw our dog wanted to breed her!) said she went very quickly with the same amount they use for a small cat.

Family are distraught, especially DS2 who is only six months older than she was. We got her aged 18 months as a rescue dog but have been lucky to have had 4 1/2 years with her. It's come as such a shock as it's all happened so quickly.

DH couldn't praise the vets enough as they were just wonderful. So I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Haven Veterinary Services in Great Yarmouth, they made an awful job for DH a lot more easier.

Finding it hard to keep strong for DH after all that's happened over the last three months but there are people who've been through worse.

Doesn't seem quite right but anyway NSD 8 today.

So sorry to hear about your dog Dobey. It is totally heartbreaking, I had to have my young dog Roxy put to sleep just before Christmas. She was my true and loyal little friend, and I miss her everyday. Reading your story above brought tears to my eyes. A big hug for you and your family dolly x

So sorry to hear this. I remember having to take my aunt's dog to the vet to be put down. She was in hospital at the time and Rebel, her jack russell, was in multi organ failure. I remember walking out of the vet with his collar and lead sobbing my heart out. I wasn't even close to the dog. I can't imagine what you're going through now. :grouphug:

Finally got around to #5 after a very naughty couple of days:D
  • Well, as predicted, no nsd for me today but I did follow spoon's advice and menu planned for the week and only bought what was required - a grand total of £21.81. And I had £16.00 of vouchers so actually £5.81. Tomorrow should hopefully be back to a nsd.

LFV - just wanted to pass on my sympathies for your sad loss.
  • A spendy for me today, but only just! Just when I thought I would manage another NSD, DD (13) started to get very upset about some flakes in her hair- I have my suspicions she isn't rinsing it properly, but she insists she is, so maybe she has slight dandruff. Her hair is fair though, so it really barely shows, but being a 13-year-old, she thinks it is the end of the world and that everyone is noticing it!

So, off to Sainsburys I went to get some Head and Shoulders- £4.43!!!! I couldn't believe it  but as DH says, it's probably worth it to prevent any more dramas about it from DD!!

I'm a bit annoyed though because I can see that I won't manage another NSD until next week now :(
