I'm interested in how often, if at all, you all re-use the plastic bags which protect the catalogues?

I suspect I'm being a bit stingy and maybe the bags can look 'very used' before I replace them. I'd hate to think my customers think they look yukky.

    Thanks.

ps Sorry I'm more of a taker than a giver on this thread. I have a back condition which makes sitting and typing painful. Thanks to all who contribute - it's a really nice thread.

Mine get used lots! Books go out about 4 times per campaign - only change bags if they are ripped (or look really dreadful!).

I always sit with a towel at the table when I get home, so I can wipe them down from rain, mud etc :rotfl:

Edit - also reuse all order forms until they look too tired. I don't put the campaign or delivery date on them - that goes on a slip of paper in the front of bag. Personally, it's easier to print off slips, rather than handwrite order forms each campaign.
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

British heart foundation is being very kind agreed that I can place my brochure and some order forms on their counter's for a donation of sale's I agreed 20% of sales generated from store. so hopefully I can start building my round up and filter out the maybes which I will try and get them on face book.

Hi - just been to collect my brochures from my first ever round, got 6 back from 17 given out (only had that many bags), one 'don't leave again' and one order. Have put notes through saying I will collect again tomorrow, but is that a pretty standard response?

All depends whether you used the 'stuff and run' or 'knock and ask' route. I'm a supporter of the latter - with only 20 books to start with my view is that it's best to leave them at a house where at least you know there is some interest. My initial territory was 70 houses and I managed to place 14 books and about half of them ordered so that equates to a 1:10 take up/order rate. If I'd 'stuffed and run' chances are I'd've only picked up one order too from the first 20 houses.

Keep at it, it does get easier once you have established your customer base. Good luck.

Yes, provided they appear when you search for credit by item on your available invoices i.e. some are only sold as part of a set/bargain bag, in which case the whole set/bag needs to be returned.

Re-using bags - as long as they look okay and are dry when I bring them in I re-use, but otherwise I'm too lazy to clean or dry them. :o I once had a pile sitting there for weeks, which my cat liked to sit on. Even a tiny hole lets the water rush in so any tears and they have to go.

I only stamp my contact details on order forms so if they're not looking too crumpled at the edges they can be re-used.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Wow most brochures in now (only some out with people that have never actually ordered yet), and have had my lowest orders to date.

Ive gained 3 new customers but lost two this time around.

Campaign 12 has been a let down.
