A few pages back on this thread there's a copy of an email from Avon, which seems to confirm that whilst we agreed to abide by certain terms and conditions when we applied to be reps, they actually have very little control over how reps market Avon goods. This may be a very fine line i.e. once we've paid for the goods..... who knows? I gather some reps sell on E-Bay/car boot sales and certainly it's very common to have a 'Bargain Box' at Avon parties. As all reps get at least 13 days credit on goods and there is the 90 day no-quibble guarantee that certainly gives us a lot of scope. (It's all about timing)
It's surprising how many products there are though. Sure others will suggest their best sellers but for my 2p-worth I'd maybe stick to:
* Skin-so-Soft products - especially Soft & Fresh (print off the flyer for all its uses inc. anti-mozzie/midge/flea properties)
* Any £1 deals i.e. liquid soaps, shower gels, bubble baths, body sprays, room/linen sprays, hand/body creams/lotions
Good luck.
Thanks for the advice! I'm a trader myself (In other, more corporate fields) so always love a good prospect of making some cash. I didn't even think about just sending back what you don't sell for refund, but it makes a lot of sense actually, and having 3 brochures worth of information means that getting the best price is easy, with very little risk.
Thanks for pointing this out Marsden and I, geek :T
Out of interest, would you only sell certain products there, or would you consider having catalogues for people to make orders there too? I suppose if you're flagging on orders then it's a good way to get a few extra buys, but you'd have to take into account where they live for delivery/postage. Hmm, I'll have a think on that one.0 -
Morning ladies.
Well, I have 40 more house’s to canvas before I need to put my order’s in, For my first campaign I managed to hit £76. I need 1 more order but I’m holding out of placing one myself! J
I remember yesterday that I was meant to register as S/E! I have tried the link here, But its saying expired - So I hit the HMRC website & I’m more confused now then before!
I’m not sure what type of S/E Avon comes under, Can anyone help?
This is the link I have :- http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/register.htm#4
Also, I spoke to my SL yesterday evening, I’m currently sharing my road with her, But she has now offered me the whole road containing 400 house’s!
So I’m one happy bunny right now!
Thanks for all the advice & support ladies! :TFuture goals:

Hi, if you are getting confused by it all, the best thing is to ring them. They are usually very helpful. HTHStill looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
having 3 brochures worth of information means that getting the best price is easy, with very little risk.
We can usually see 3-4 brochures ahead of whatever our current brochure is so you can use that to plan when to buy things. In my case it was a bit different because I was stocking up for a one-off - if you were doing a car boot every week/fortnight/month you'd have to keep a rolling eye on things.
If you had brochures out you'd have to be careful that the products you're selling aren't more expensive than the brochure on the table. Some people won't notice or mind (in the same way that customers on your round know the prices change from brochure to brochure), but some will want to haggle if they see a difference. I can imagine having to re-price stuff with every change of brochure - even if that only involves moving products from one box to another it could be time-consuming.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

As a customer I agree completely with IGeek and would advise caution about setting your hopes too high for making money at boot sales. We have a few avon ladies at our local boot sales and they try to convince customers that products are 'half price', when they have been at 'half price' in nearly every brochure for months - and most Avon regulars know it. Given that door to door reps bring things in undamaged boxes, nicely wrapped to the door, and that avonshop offers discounts and freebies for bigger purchases made online, then there isn't much that is attractive about a boot sale table piled high with tatty boxes, at the same price that a savvy shopper can get elswhere.0

I just checked my invoice and 7 bottles of Skin so Soft are out of stock - how annoying! Anything else I'd accept but SSS is like avon's "thing"!
A girl ordered 5 from me this campaign and I just had to text her to say they're OOS and I won't be able to get them. This was her first order and probably her last after that! Grr.My Debt Free Diary

But they should come with your following order on a 'to follow' basis. Apologise for the delay and pop in a little freebie to keep her sweet. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I'm on C10 and so far not a single bit of interest in the new hair colours despite my promotion and the pages in the brochure. Guess I must have the 'wrong' customers for home hair colouring.
Pleased though that I have sold the 3 Herve Leger I ordered from HT. Really thought they were a bit pricey but my ladies seem to go for this one (and generally they are £10 and under fragrance buyers).
Hows everyone else doing? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
