Just a quick question. I have just done returns for two products. I got a free gift with one- do I have to return that as well?
You are supposed to...
But depends what it is.Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Believe so, yes. But check both HT's as sometimes they have offers on samples. Just adjust to previous campaign if previous HT prices are cheaper on the samples. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

This is some great information... I've been thinking about giving Avon a go for quite a while now but these tips and stuff have encouraged me to take the plunge!!Professional Pennypincher.0

Your credit limit is only really important for your first order, after that I wouldn't worry as once you've prove you can pay for an order Avon will keep increasing it.
Your asm or sl will know your first credit limit - I always tell my reps what there limit is - but if they didnt make a record - and no reason to, my only record is checking my sent emails lol, then you won't know what your original limit was.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Quiz who you join with, nothing worse than joining with someone who provides no support past your first campaign. Ask what they do, how/when they can contact you - my answers would be I'll help with problems/questions unless it's something specific to your account that only Avon can deal with. And that I email my reps every campaign with new ideas/tips, and that I get back to people within about 24 hours. See how honest they are before you sign up with them! I'm possibly thinking about giving Avon a go, but having tried several of these types of businesses and ending up spending more than I've made, I'm wary.
I'd be grateful if someone could give me a detailed breakdown of ALL the costs involved with joining and running an Avon business. Also, is there a way to find out what the competition is in my area? I know of at least one rep nearby, although we don't get a catalogue through our door.0 -

Sorry, no and no.
We can tell you approximately the costs involved, cannot tell you ALL the costs involved as it depends on your own spending and what you buy for your business.
As to what competition is in your area, no we can't tell you that. Whoever you sign up with may tell you. The ASM and SL can see what other reps are in your area. They may be friend and family reps which means they do not cover territory or they maybe territory reps which means they have their own roads. If they are established reps, they may have already covered all the local shops etc.
Costs: books, inital sign up fee, and ongoing cost of books, and if you purchase the paper bags, carrier bags, samples, etc.
Books cost
Pack(s) No. of brochures Cost each Total
1 5 brochures 63p £3.15
2 10 brochures 42.2p £4.22
3 15 brochures 32.4p £4.86
Initial sign up fee is £15, spread over 2 campaigns if you submit an order.
for prices of samples, paper bags, etc.
Have a look at this link, http://www.e-pages.dk/uk_avon/287/
page 55,56, 57.
You could earn as little as £0 to as much as £100, approx depending on the amount of sales you make. You only earn 20% or 25% discount on your total sales amount. So you would need to sell a lot to make £100 discount. (commission, Avon are not allowed to call it commission, otherwise you would be working directly for them as sales people, hence why it is called discount and we are self employed.)0 -
Just to add what A has helpfully posted - after your first 15 brochures, they are only 50p per pack of 5 (price is increasing from 48p per 5 soon).
The on-going costs depend upon how much you're going to do - as a minimum you'd need to purchase brochures & paper bags. Obviously samples and giving customers free gifts to reward their loyalty will pay off in the long run, but it is another cost.
Thankfully lots of essentials are free - order forms, ring sizers, calling book (where you keep a record of who has a brochure) are all free.
As A said, how much you earn depend on how much you sell - everyone does differently. I've rarely sold less than £250 (that's round new year), the rest of the year it's never below £400 - but obviously not everyone manages this.
What I always say to people thinking of giving it a go - is sign up (choose someone "good" to join with) - as if you don't put a first order in, you won't owe anything, so you can see how many orders you get. All I say is, if you join and decide it's not for you - let whoever you joined with know this fact, they'll appreciate your honesty.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
