  • Hi Everyone,

I would like to add my experience with vodafone to this thread in hope that eventually, but unlikely, they will listen and do something about the worst customer service I have ever seen.

Today I finally had enough and paid off my first vodafone account and closed it. The past six months have been an absolute nightmare dealing with the customer service and support department. Talk about rude and arrogant, I have never seen anything like it. Being in IT Support myself for over 15 years I know all about customer facing. If I treated any of my customers the way the vodafone staff do I would not have a job to go back to on Monday!

It took 4 calls to close the account the first 3 I was cut off, even had one operator throw a tantrum at me, she sounded like she was about 12 years old, the guy before that cut me off in mid-sentence! I've had mangers promise call backs and then !!!!!! off to lunch and leave me waiting. I have spent hours on hold waiting for tech support, once for over 1 hour, then the call was dropped. I have realised that it's best to try and fix the problems yourself before you go anyhere near the support team, they are utterly useless! I have been lied to, fobbed off with the most pathetic of excuses and honestly I do not need to be waiting on hold for a ½ hour to then be told to take the battery out. My God!

If you show even a hint of the angry customer then you get lectured on morality and manners from supposed professionals. What a joke!

I have 5 months left on my Blackberry Storm, excellent phone by the way, and I am telling you if vodafone are the only operator offering the storm 2 then I'm writing to RIM to inform them they have lost a customer as I will never return to vodafone again. I don't care how much compensation they give me the rudeness, arrogance and incompetence just never stops.

I could rant for hours about this awful company and it's a damn shame as they offer good products but after my horrible experiences with the most disgusting support staff I have ever experienced I've had enough. The quicker I'm away from these utter idiots the better. It's been the worst "customer" experience of my life.

Shame on you vodafone, as you really do not give a DAMN about your customers.

Grrr, their contact us by email is shocking. I emailed them on the 17th, I had an automatic email response saying they will contact me within 5 days. I haven't heard from them, so I emailed them again, I had another automatic email response.

I still haven't heard from them.

    Is there anybody there????

  • Vodafone have charged me £326 for an early disconnection fee for a Netbook 7 day trial I had back in May 09. Now they are threatening to cut me off because I owe them £23. Never mind the 2x£38 overdraft charges they have incurred for me !!!!!!!

It sounds like Vodafone took the charges from your account by direct debit. If so, then you need to speak to your bank. Under the direct debit guarantee, your bank must provide an immediate refund in case of an error. Whilst the issue of charges incurred in case of an error is not explicitly covered by the guarantee, I think you have good grounds to insist that the bank waives the overdraft charges, if you provide evidence that there was indeed an error by Vodafone. If they still refuse, post about it (more than once if necessary in order to get the response and result you are morally entitled to) on the Vodafone e-forum...

    Hi xukc,

I'm sorry, and concerned, to read about your recent experience here and would like to take a closer look at things for you.

To enable us to do this could you also send us your details via email also following the instructions in my earlier post?

Many thanks and all the best to you all.

It's already been sorted thanks to a nice lady in the CEO's office. I had a new phone delivered to me straight away and I’m very pleased to have one person from Vodafone treat me like a valued customer. Shame that all their staff are not like this. Fingers crossed the new phone doesn’t break
  • where in the eForum would you report upgrade issues and general customer service complaints. I was sold an upgrade when I wanted to move away from VF afetr 5 years, and tey messed up so many things (from address to phone, etc) and had such bad experiecnes with CS (I started taping the calls!!) that I just want to get out of VF but I'm finding it impossible!!! The CS reps actually are telling me things like "sorry the system is not allowing me to cancel your order, call back in a couple of days"

    crazy stuff!

This happened to me with O2, I phoned back just 5 minutes later to the direct line of the Agent and the order was apparently on it's way already and unstoppable!

Looking at the date of your post, you may be too late for this advice, but if anyone else gets in this situation, just refuse to accept the delivery when it arrives.
