lots of good advice there: I'd like to ditto the paul mckenna book as I lost some serious weight doing that: hit a plateau with a knee injury and darker mornings/nights which stopped me seriously cycling also.
i then went on the meta diet (like atkins) and lost a stone in 2 weeks!
However it is VERY difficult to stick to for the first week or so and will only ever be a short term fast loss system: does boost the confidence though!
I now have a rowing machine (concept 2 no less) and knee is healed so back on the cycle when I can, now 13st13, aiming for 12st 12 or less!

well done timbo thats great what youve achieved already!
I've managed to stay off all fizzy drinks for a whole day now - I know it doesn't seem alot but when you are as addicted as I am then its great! I really do have bad cravings for it though. Im heading round to my mums for dinner tonight and she told me shes bought coke especially for me - so ive asked her to hide it before I get there lol have had a great day diet wise, havent snacked once and only drinking water.
Starting swimming this week as I have a card with a few free swim sessions left on it and Im more likely going to find the time to do it when my HM is back to work!
Hope you all had a good new yearLife is what you make it.0 -
so whats with the staying off fizzy drinks?
I use pepsi max and although I have heard that aspartame (nutrasweet) can block or delay weight loss in 10% of dieters it doesn't seem to affect me?
Were you on the 'full fat' versions?
Did a 2000 metre row in under 9 minutes last night: fastest time ever but well out of puff afterwards: the target for the pro rowers seems to be sub 7!

hey Timbo - yes was just on the normal stuff and consuming too much on a daily basis for it even to be considered to be healthy! My problem is even if I had one glass every now and then as a treat one glass would turn into a whole 2L bottle which isn't going to help weight loss so better just not having any
Have decided to go swimming daily when my HM returns to work on wednesday, plan being she drops me at the pool on the way to work then I walk home. I have a prepaid swim card and have about 10 swims left on it so at least thats a start!
Lastnight at my parents for dinner and was on a challenege not to say no to any vegtables offered to me - which I did really well on all apart from one! 6 veg I managed whereas before I would have only ate 2 of them! Also cut right down on carbs with only 1 small roast! Definately a step in the right direction! Have now planned meals for the next 3 days so I am less likely to order takeaway or start cooking really late!Life is what you make it.0 -
Im the same such a fussy eater
But healthy eating started yesterday ( i dont call it dieting..feels like im denying my self if i do )
And have been for a jog this morning..so hopefully the pounds will drop off.
Aim is to be 9 stone againWill not be a fat bride...

I found the easiest way to drop a few pounds was to consciously make all my meals about a third smaller than I used to, no faffing around with smaller plates, we all know you can pile food high
I was really surprised how little I noticed what I was doing, I didn't feel hungry, I didn't fixate, and the weight gradually reduced.0 -
now 2 days off the fizz and so far today havent missed it! Have started dishing smaller portion sizes and dont notice a huge difference but tend to get hungry quicker so just find a peice of fruit or light snack which works - read somewhere that you should eat a peice of food the size of your fist little but often throughout the day - but Im happy with the way my eating habbits are for now *i think*
Found a swim pass which is a prepaid card with about 10 swims left on it so going to use that this week. Also looking to move house soon and have requested a garage so I can fix my bike, fix the rust starting to kick in and put the bike back to use ASAP - no point just at the minute when its only going to sit in a damp shed!
Also found my dumbells up stairs so will start using them as well - trying to save as much money as possible Ive also read that climbing house stairs burns 10 cals! so planning on doing this constant for an hour everyday to hopefully help someway!Life is what you make it.0 -

hope you dont mind me chipping in, but thought i would just mention what has been a life saver for me...the fruity ryvitas are great, when you need something sweet with your cuppa, and they are thick enough to dunk..... heaven lol0

oooh thank Ellieo didnt even realise there was fruity ryvitas! Will have to try and find it on my next food shop! And dont apologise this is a thread for everyone - all help is really appreciated!
Hoping to borrow a set of scales from my mum this week so will have an official weight - Im dreading the embarrasement of posting it but I think its that sort of humilation I need to give me the right kick up the bum!Life is what you make it.0
