Cut out the oil and use fry light! Much healthier.

Good luck trying to cut down on the coke, if you don't hate it just the change to diet drinks will cut out a lot of calories. If you used to drink 4l of normal Coke then that's 1,640 calories a day you've managed to cut out! Swapping to Diet Coke would be just 16 calories for 4l. Obviously water/squash is much better, but as a compromise Diet Coke wouldn't be too bad.

I use spray oil at the moment which is alot better than just normal oil - is fry light something similar?

Unfortunately I hate diet coke lol but I've asked my house mate not buy anymore coke and as Im also on a strict budget for food shop I couldnt afford it anyway (thankfully) I have one half bottle left but I might just see if my housemate wants to keep it and hide it lol I did get off the coke for a while but ended up drinking sprite instead which wasnt much better!

Cant wait for tomorrow, new year new start :j Hope you all have a good 2011

I know what you mean weeclick. I love pepsi and irn bru, but can't stand diet drinks. However, flavoured water is great and its low in calories. I'm also beginning to like squash a bit more now :) You shouldn't cut coke out completely as i've done that with things before and eventually I end up getting fed up and giving in. Perhaps you could allow yourself a 500ml bottle of coke one night a week as a treat? Tonight i'm going to poach some fish for dinner and serve it with rice. I rarely fry food to be honest. I think my problem really is that I gorge on too many crisps and take-aways but i'm determined to stop, as i'm noticing my skin is starting to get spotty :(

Next week i'm also going to stock up on veg and make some nice home-made soup which will do me for lunch for a few days :) To begin with i'm really just trying to make some small changes, as going on a fully-fledged diet never works for me and I end up eating even more lol! Hopefully, I will see some improvements, and that way I will be teaching myself to eat healthily over time which will maybe mean that any weight I lose will stay off :)

Here's to a happy and hopefully slimmer 2011 for us all :)!

I think my problem sometimes is I am such a fussy eater - I only started eating vegtables about 3 years ago and even now its still a limited list! Love vegtable soups though and had promised to start making some in the new year for when I start work so Im less likely to buy food for lunch! I'm not even sure what I'm having for dinner yet - which is another problem of mine I never plan in advance and only decide when its too late - end up giving in and ordering chinese - that all has to stop!

Stocking up with more fruit and veg at the start of next week as I found £18 tescos vouchers yey!!

Have you ever tried the h2o drinks - they are like sprite, taste the exact same but only 11cals a bottle!! Used to drink those going to work but since I became self employed I never ventured to the shops like that and ended up buying big bottles of coke! Have filled the water filter and I've even limited the amount of alcohol Im having tonight, the rest is all locked away! This will be a rather sober, budget effective, sitting in the house new years eve - Im sure thats not right for someone my age lol!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    eat less
    move more
with a bit of willpower that works
ive lost nearly 4 stone this year
but it takes time, quick fixes do not work,as the weight goes, you get smaller clothes and will start to look and feel better in yourself that gees you on
    good luck
    you can do it x
  • I'd just love to be able to fit back into my old 'nice' clothes. Fed up of wearing my frumpy plain 'big' clothes :( I have never tried the h20 drinks, but they sounds great! I always get into the habit of ordering take-aways as my fiance works late and comes in about 8-9pm , by then I can't be bothered cooking. However, I need to adopt a more positive attitude and perhaps start preparing food in advance, so I can just heat it up when he comes home :)

I am graduating in July and dread thinking about my photos being the size that I am. Want to look and feel better by then!

looks like we both have a goal for July then!! Its funny how strong willpower can be - I have a load of chocolate from christmas and havent even eaten any yet - so unlike me!! Its almost being 24 hours since my last coke - how thought giving up a fizzy drink would be so hard!

I agree with everything that ellieo said above about quick fixes. I'm 26+ stone and so its definitely gonna have to be a long term plan.
