on average what do these holidays usually cost? I have never done one before
if there is 4 of you then 4 x £9.50 so £38, then service charge on top which can be anything from £0-£25, linen charge £0-£5, and entertainment passes anything from £0-£40, and if done online £1.50 surcharge, so best case scenario £39.50 but could be upto anything like £109.50, so average is somewhere in the middle:D

Linen always seems to be £10 for me - but you don't have to borrow theirs. They provide duvets and pillows so you could take your own sheets and covers if you have room in your luggage.

A 3 night holiday will be cheaper than a 4 night holiday because you only pay 3 lots of service charge.

If there are less than 4 of you to a caravan you can ask them to remove some of the entertainment passes, also check whether small children are free. Some dates and parks have free entertainment passes.

For a family of 4 where we all need entertainment passes and are choosing somewhere with quite expensive passes such as Butlins it usually ends up costing around £105.

You must select FIVE PARKS from the 351 listed and FIVE HOLIDAY DATES from the list. Holidays from £9.50 can be taken between March 4 and May 27 or September 8 and November 28, 2011. Holidays from £15 can be taken on selected dates between May 30 and September 5, 2011. Some parks also offer Holidays from £9.50 during February half term.

Primary costs are buying the newspapers so you can collect the tokens, then its £9.50 per person (you have to pay for at least 4 people even if only 2 or 3 are going on the break)

Then some holiday parks charge a bit extra for things like entertainment passes to get you in the complex at night - perhaps £3 per head? And some charge a small fee for electric , maybe another couple of quid?

Then there are optional extras such as hiring bedlinen and insurance policies.
  • Thank you for your help. I think I will go for it this year for myself and my two girls.

  • I've done this offer a few times at Haven, never paid more than about £40 in addition (didn't upgrade) If you are just using it as a base then you don't desperately need the entertainment passes, but they do get you in the pool for free. unless you are on public transport I would just bring your own linen, it's nicer to have your own anyway. If anyone plans to go before Easter time, bear in mind that not all caravans are centrally heated, the basic ones may just have a gas fire in living/kitchen area.
  • The Sun Holiday is good but now there are 6 of us if we are going in school time or even the weekend its cheaper or the same to book direct. But I think for a 4 person family its great.
  • sorry im new to this too, where do you find the list of places and dates? x
