hi sophiasmum
bit of a reverse situation in that I live in Norther Ireland, and when I have non Royal Mail items I use collectmyparcel.com
I have only used them twice, both times, collecting the parcel from my house, and it was going to an English address
no hassle, and positive feedback from buyers. you input dimensions & weight etc to get a quote.
hope this helps :-)0 -
I've used 'My Hermes' before. There's usually cashback / discount codes around as well, I always just Google it to find them easily, and look on TopCashBack / Quidco as well. (Think between me and OH and our various email addresses we have more than our fair share of accounts with them, so we could take advantage of various codes etc)
Remember reading mixed reviews about them though the first time I used them, but decided to go with them as the buyer I was sending too said he used them all the time and never had a problem, so would be happy for me to use them.
It may be that people are more likely to post a review after a bad experience so the number of bad reviews compared to good ones isn't necessarily properly reflective.
I've used them about 6 times now, and never had any problems though, if that helps. They used to be amongst the cheapest too, though that may not still be the case???Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
I've also used MyHermes before with mixed results. I think it comes down to who services your neighbourhood and the buyers. I ended up trying them again two months ago and the new fellow covering our area is fab. I receive parcels from him as well as have him pick them up. They have worked out to be the cheapest in most cases. I also use ParcelMonkey to get 1 day deliveries through CityLink if necessary - but you know my last issue with them ---somehow did a double-booking that caused me some stress even though there was nothing wrong with the delivery.!!!!!! Make Me Rich This Year eBay & Gumtree
2013 goal is getting rid of all my clutter and it would be a bonus to make £2000 again doing so!

You could always ask the buyer to arrange their own courier - I've done this before - we just came to a mutual convenient time for collection and I packed the thing up and courier collected as planned.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
