Im not really sure - but I think I would contact the seller and tell them? Perhaps they will know how much they paid to post it (have they got a receipt?) and you should be able to work out how much it costs to post from Royal Mail site. If they dont resolve it by refunding - I would not collect it and I would raise an item not received on ebay?

Hi everyone...mind if I join? I have only just ventured into selling on ebay and wish I had found this thread first! I have only tried two small 'lots' and lost out on postage and one lady didn't want her purchase so I refunded AND offered to pay postage although she has not returned yet.
Anyhoo we live and learn, I have picked up lots of tips so far and it is nice to share small triumphs. After watching a couple of episodes of 'buried alive' the hoarding programme I have decided to clear out my massive collection of 'stuff' and try and collect enough money to pay for Christmas which always creeps up on me.
Anyone any advice on what is a good 'lot'? I was aiming for around 10 - 15 items in one go if I can get the lazy teenagers to help. Do you think like for like items or a mixed bag? I have clothes, shoes, books, knitting patterns, make up and bath stuff, baby clothes, Cd's DVD's and even vinyl! In fact I have lots of everything looking around.
Any help appreciated and thanks for reading

A FLW for fixed price sales! I dont often do those but will have go with a few things. Bit of a gamble I guess. I listed a dress last week for £2.50 and it sold for over £26  Thinking about it if I had put fixed price on it, it probably would only been around the £5 mark.

I dont often list 'bundles' but it is a great way of shifting a lot of stuff in one fell swoop! I would list similar items rather than mixed bag. Or sets especially if you have lots of clothes E.g. 3 tops and 2 pairs of trousers that go together;shoes and matching accessories etc etc. DO a bit of homework and search on Eb*y for the the things you want to sell and see what sort of prices they are going for - you might find selling DVDs and books go better on places like Zapper. I believe vinyl sells on Eb*y. Its worth getting the postage right for bundles too. Happy selling! BTW giving the lazy teens a percentage of the sales on their stuff in return for help I find is a great motivator;)

Thats what I thought Igamogam....I dont think I want to do fixed listings, I rarely do a 'buy it now' which is similar - putting a value to something. I may do a couple of trial fixed listings on stamps - weather is too nice for ebaying anyway!!!.

Thanks for the advice, think I will give the clothes a go as I have quite a few new things with tags that might go and some sandals. Good plan with the LT's....I was thinking of saying I either cook or ebay can't do both!! Stomachs or wallets we will see.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun, have two days off now so hopefully will get time to research and list.

Oh dear....just called CityLink to find out why my parcel status is still 'waiting for pickup' when it was picked up last Tuesday. They can't find it anywhere in their system and have opened a case. Of course it's the most expensive thing I've sent (£300 value).:( I did get additional insurance and got the driver to sign that he was picking it up so hopefully I'm covered but given that they didn't even have a pickup scan I'm a bit worried that they can get out of reimbursing me if they can't locate it....:(:(:(
