Won the auctions for some little baby clothes, and requested a combined invoice from the seller (had checked in advance that they were happy to combine postage), and they've come back with a charge of £6 P&P! This is just for two little baby tops and a summer baby dress

I've asked them to change it to £2.20 + packaging, but i have a feeling they're going to decline - obv looking to make a profit on the P&P. Am I able to just cancel the purchase if so? Never had this as a buyer before.

Edit: Phew, it was just a mistake. Going to be changed to £4 - still a bit more than I had anticipated (been assuming £3.50 ish), but happy to go with it.

The items I listed at the FLW are being a bit slow to get moving. I did list them with relatively high starting prices - I'm not familiar enough with the new postal charges yet, and have a feeling I'll be under charging for a while, so don't want to risk ending up making a loss! But I have a couple of watchers, so fingers crossed...

LannieDuck, that does seem a little steep, even at the revised postage cost - I am glad you queried it, but I would give appropriate feedback re the postage when you get the items and can see how much they actually paid.

MavvyMoo, that is great! I have 14 out of 24 items with bids so far.

Sophiasmum, sometimes we need a break from it all, I find it quite hard work, especially on packing up days. Glad to see you are back and at it again, though.

Good luck everyone, if this wet weather continues over the weekend, we should do well, lol!

I would suggest that apart from looking at what the actual cost of postage was, you also need to take into account the cost of packaging. I buy proper plastic posting bags, tissue paper, bubble wrap etc to ensure any items I post arrive in the same condition I posted them, but for some reason buyers don't always take the cost of packaging into account at all.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you

Yeah, she says the postage cost is £2.70 (my reckoning is it should be £2.20, but I'm not going to quibble about 50p), so she's adding £1.30 for packaging and other expenses. That's a lot more than I add, but maybe she hasn't figured out where to buy cheap packaging? I'll see what it arrives in - if it's a bin bag and packaging tape, I'll be less generous in the stars...

Glad everyone is doing so well :T I feel a bit of a fraud went to a boot sale on Saturday and brought 2 pairs of shoes for me, They were new a Red pair which are so comfy and a Black pair which hurt my toes when I wore them Sunday they cost £3 So thought rather than have them hanging around I would stick them on Ebay. Just checked my listings and they are up to £29  With 41 watchers on them.

    Hi all,
Any ideas for where I can buy cheap packaging? Most of my items are clothes/shoes. I usually buy mailing bags/envelopes from high street stores, but wonder what everyone else does?
