Bit of a rant - why do people bid then not pay?!

I've had to open 3 non payment cases in the last few days, grr!

I relisted that dress again (cheaper this time), I got 4 watchers and one email asking about its length. It ended with no bids. I've relisted fur the umpteenth time...

I am selling NOTHING! Fair enough, I only have 5 or 6 things listed at a time at the moment but still... I'm definitely not going to be rich at this rate, or cleared of all my stuff...

  • KT - At any one time I will have between 50 - 90 items listed. Some weeks I only sell about 5 or 10, about 10% of all my listings, so don't let it get you down! I just keep relisting any that haven't sold, and eventually they all go. I try and keep costs down by adjusting my starting price according to whether it is free listing. For more expensive items I usually list BIN for 30 days, as that seems to be best value.

  • KT, I agree with Claudiac - just keep relisting as you've nothing to lose (except time) if you don't pay a listing price. I too put BIN for more expensive items and find that this works pretty well for me even at the normal 40p/item rate. The one downside is that you need to make more trips to the post office this way.

HI, I'm new to Ebay, and wonder if any of you lovely experienced sellers can help. I've just sold three items to the same buyer, who's paid for them individually on PayPal. Now it seems silly to send them individually, but the seller had already paid the individual postage. It'll be cheaper to send them as one parcel.
My DH seems to think that if I send them together and refund the difference I'll be opening myself up to problems if she wants to send them back, but I can't see this happening if I do the refund through PayPal. Any advice? Should I just send them seperately and be done with it?
    Thanks for your help!

Refund and then send one invoice with all 3 items on and one postage price - refund the difference in postage and let the buyer know what you are doing.

Same goes Sparkle, I had to open 4 cases last week, it's very annoying! One of them was new to ebay and said she couldn't get papypal to work so didn't want the item anymore but I checked her feedback and she's been buying other bits and pieces!!! Hope you get yours sorted soon x

I've only got 4 things listed - 2 are relists & one of these has 5 watchers. 2 new items & they have 11 watchers & 3 watchers so hopefully something will go! I was writing a very detailed description yesterday and managed to lose the lot & had to redo. Is there any way of saving a description or at least saving stock phrases like Non smoking home, no returns etc?

  • Gutted. I sold a bundle of girls clothes including a Burberry coat to a buyer in France. The listing ended at £4.99 with only the one bid. Buyer asked for revised invoice for postage and I charged her £6.50 My own stupid fault I know. Just got back from the Post Office and it's cost me £10.45 to send so with charges i've made....zilch ARGH!

I always just copy and paste from a previous auction.
