Thanks again everyone. I'll keep you posted on the events.
Does anyone have a rough idea of how this pans out? i.e. How many threats they send etc
Obviously in the back of my mind I do have the fear of a CCJ
For you to get a CCJ, the case would have to go to court (very unlikely), you lose (very, very unlikely) and then you refuse to pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days. So such a remote possibility it's not worth worrying about. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
I would not worry about a CCJ you paid end of, no convention they dream up is backed by any authority. Any contract they believe existed you honoured by paying. If they were foolish enough to issue proceedings they would get spanked.
The letter chains can be anything from one to several just file them under bin and don't worry.0 -

It's not a rough idea, it's an exact pictogram of the letter chain. See 'PPC letters, what to expect' thread at the top, by Crabman:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Sometimes Roxburghe phone up, passing themselves off as 'Graham White'. See the 'have fun with them' link within one of the letter-chains on that first post, or if phone calls bother you then tell them the debt is denied and to cease contact or it will be reported as harassment.
If it's just the same old letters then laugh and go back and do it again to cost them money!
There is never Court, and no CCJ, no bailiff, no effect on your credit rating from this bunch of losers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@OP You might also want to have a good look at this typical (as I understand it) APCOA car park sign. It incorporates the phrase "civil penalty charge" that would almost certainly kill any court action stone dead.

Perhaps the inclusion of the phrase was a one-off. May be not. Have a look at this photo of one of their signs in a car park in Yorkshire.
Ooops! There it is again. Just can't get the staff can you?
If these are indeed typical examples of APCOA's signage then you have little to concern yourself with.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
I like the 2nd to last sentence of that 2nd sign "PPC reserves the right to sue for a higher amount where the company deems appropriate to recover any losses sustained by them."
Oh look, it's a free car-park, total losses be zero.0 -

That just about kills it for their court case then.:rotfl:0 -
It is simple by thr facts posted by the OP that the said letter received is hereby unenforceable by all means.
You may receive a number of other letters threatening you will court action; ignore it.
Most likely you will hear from a bent Graham White whom is not a solicitor but in fact this firm trading as Graham White Solicitors; it is completely safe to ignore there letters too.
Nothing will happen; no court action; no fine.
