Apols if I've got this wrong. Do you have cervical spondylosis (clapped out C5, C6, C7 vertebrae)? The position the head is held in for any length of time, for instance when looking down to sew, use laptop, driving position, are all aggravating factors.
My C5 and C6 are well passed their shelf life. To use my laptop and be pain free I have it balanced on top of three cushions on my lap which puts the screen in my line of sight when I look straight ahead. One of these days it's going to fall off and smash itself :o

I was unaware that cervical spondylosis could result in it falling off!

    :rotfl::rotfl:

I think she was talking about the laptop there!!:D
Mind you if my head could come off at times I would like that as its so heavy at times! I often have to lie down, just to take the weight off of my neck!

Peg Pouch smart waterproof peg holder. With a handy carabiner hook to fasten to your belt or washing line, and a drawstring fastener to keep your pegs clean and dry when not in use – there's even a drainage hole in case you forget to bring it in!
its on the lakeland .com site(shopping)

    Morning Vi,
I will take a look after I have done the school run.
Just came on to report Jo4, I did my back exercises after a long soak in the bath last night. Meant I was up a lot later then normal.
Then this morning DGD joined me on the bed to do some too.
So I have started. But I am achy now. Oh well least I can see what I cannot do, and what I can still do.
    Onwards and upwards.
Today I have an order for a purse, tissue holder and a tote bag, to match in CK fabrics. Mixed with a bright.
So I am taking DGD to Nursery soon, and then after my breakfast I will get to the sewing machine.
The I am looking through the stash to see if I have some fabric, enough to make some curtains.
Before I get back to lmy bag making.
Had a rough night, up 4 or 5 times, so no more than an hour and a half asleep in any one stretch if that. ! Feel rather jaded.
But the arm is no worse. Thats a bonus. Catch up later.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Your doing well, bet your proud of yourself! If the exercise helps then it's worth it! You must remember to make the time to do them every day and hopefully you will reap the rewards!

    Evening everyone.
Well I have had a day sorting out my energy bills.
I have been on BGas since I moved here, on a prepay electric meter, and an ordinary gas one. Once they decided to agree I actually had gas!
Anyway they have been messing me around since I moved here so I nearly left them last month, but they gave me a £30 reduction for having messed me around, and promised to sort things out. Alas they still messed me around, and did not refund the £89.50 that they had taken out over the agreed DD. So today I signed up with EDF energy. They are expecting a reduction of between £102 and £155 on my bills. Bearing in mind that we do not have a years worth of energy to work it out on.
Anyway I did that and it got me thinking about the NPower that i am paying back, since we all lived together in the big house. I have been paying off £15 a fortnight, on the GAs and the Electric. I was thinking that this Standing order was to be going on for about another 8 -10 months. But I rang just now, and got a result.
It appears that the Gas was in credit by £80.73 and I only owe £112.09 on the electric. After 30 minutes on the phone (they rang me back), they have managed to transfer the gas credit to the electric bill, so I now only owe £31.36. Which is due to go out of my account now Next Thursday. Then I will be clear of them for good!!
This is a cause for celebration!! Imagine how much better my budget is going to be towards the new price increases of the currently climate!:T:T
all in all, what with the sewing this morning, its turned out to be a reasonably good day!

  • That's fantastic news! Just goes to show that a bit of time on the phone sorting these things out usually pays off.
Well done on the sewing too :-)

Twin1 rang this afternoon as well, to tell me that her Talk Talk package has changed, and its going to be reduced to £27.10 a month. This is good, as this months bill is £53.odd and its going out of my bank account!:o It was supposed to be capped at £30 but that was not happening. I pay this bill as I am a softie. It allows all the children to access the telephone for the jobcentre, jobsearches etc, and to access the internet, and to do thier CV's and the like.
(And all the other things they do on the internet.). This new package will lower the charges due to the costs of unlimited downloads apparantly. We will see.
But if everything is reduced then that will be a minor miracle for me.:T

  • Mooloo, it is great that you have reduced some of your expenditure but I am very concerned that you are still paying for things for the children - at the weekend you mentioned that you pay Twin1's TV Licence and now you pay the telephone package - I appreciate this can help them look for work but honestly how often do they actually look for work? There should be organisations in town including the library who will let you use computers for free for them to do CV's and job searches.

I know you are only trying to help them but this is money out of your already quite reduced income plus you are tryng to get some spending money for holiday (which you deserve) but helping them is not helping you.

Without being morbid I wonder what will happen when you are not here anymore - who will pay their bills for them then?

    EE

P.S Sorry to be negative all the time but I really do worry about you!!

I would love to stop paying for them, but I have extracted myself as reasonably as I can, at the moment.
They do look for work, and send out CV's all the time actually, surprisingly they both do go to interviews and things, but they cannot access this from town, except on the sign on day, as the bus fare is £7.20 to go to town. Thats quite a hefty amount. (I used to drive them in, but I dont anymore.). I understand what you are saying, but they are still my children, and as they have Learning Difficulties, I am still going to be responsible for them until I die.
I dont know what will happen to them by then.
In an ideal life they will have found a decent man, who will love them and care for them, by then.
In reality,? They will slip further and further out of the Social Radar, and they will probably end up homeless and on the streets. Becuase our care in the community doesnt work.
The suposed supported accommodation that twin1 is in, is now a lady who is in the office for 3 hours once a week. So the access to the services are gone. There are 8 houses, and several hostel rooms, all tryinng to use one washingmachine in that time?
There are lots of things that are not ideal. But tell me, if you knew that your children were vunerable, would you actually just leave them to it, totally and let them have nothing?

We are quite adapt at budgeting. They do not understand the concept, dispite all manor of budgets, spreadsheets, graphs, or charts or even simple explanations. Part is probably burring thier heads in the sand that is true, but the other part really is that they are not coping.
DS has found a little work, hardly ever asks for help, dispite his being "out there" as well now. He will survive, and like Biggest of Mooloo, I will not be so worried.
If I am gone, then perhaps the rest of the family will pitch in and help the twins. Who knows.?
The amount I am paying this year is considerably less now, then it was at the beginning of the year. I do understand where your concern is coming from, and I am monitoring things.
That is why i suggested that they shared one home instead of the two. But that doesnt seem to be likely. Housing not allowing it.

Right, time to get on, I am still in my dressinggown, and I have the dishes to attack. (I still can never face washing up in the evening, and I added to the pile by making some flapjacks, scones and then boiling up some fabric dye in my largest pan.).
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
